Job Description
We’re looking for a Sales Compensation Manager to serve as the operational and program lead for our global sales compensation efforts. This is a senior individual contributor role responsible for translating compensation strategy into scalable processes, ensuring smooth plan execution, and managing the end-to-end compensation lifecycle.
Your role will focus on program management, process ownership, documentation, stakeholder alignment, and acting as the field and finance liaison. You will ensure that strategic comp designs are implemented correctly, run effectively, and deliver on performance and governance expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Program Ownership & Cross-Functional Execution
- Own the end-to-end compensation operations lifecycle, from plan rollout and SPIFFs to monthly execution and field support.
- Translate high-level comp strategy into clear business requirements for system configuration and operational processes.
- Act as the bridge between strategy and systems, partnering with the Compensation Systems Analyst for implementation in CaptivateIQ.
- Manage inputs, timelines, stakeholder approvals, and communication across Finance, HR, Legal, and Sales.
Process Management & Field Support
- Maintain the global commission calendar, ensuring timely handoffs, approvals, and accurate payouts.
- Coordinate eligibility, plan exceptions, quota tie-outs, and rep transitions.
- Serve as the first line of support for field questions and compensation escalations.
- Own all documentation for plans, policies, SPIFFs, and communication artifacts.
Operational Reporting & Coordination
- Partner with Finance on commission forecasting, cost tracking, and accrual planning.
- Provide visibility into payout pacing, plan mechanics, and SPIFF utilization.
- Ensure alignment between quota, territory, and comp plan structures through strong coordination with GTM Planning
Audit & Compliance
- Own and maintain process documentation for audit readiness, including plan approvals, exception workflows, and historical changes.
- Ensure compliance with ASC 606 and internal controls related to variable compensation.
- Partner with Legal and Finance to uphold comp governance and risk mitigation standards.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Sales Compensation, Revenue Operations, or Finance within a SaaS or recurring revenue business.
- Experience owning or operating a global sales compensation program with cross-functional complexity. Experience with consumption based compensation models is a plus.
- Strong understanding of quota, attainment, and variable pay structures across AE, AM, SDR, and overlay roles.
- Excellent project management and stakeholder coordination skills.
- Ability to think strategically and operationalize efficiently, with a strong attention to detail.
- Familiarity with CaptivateIQ and Salesforce; while you won’t build logic, you must speak the language of implementation.
- Working knowledge of ASC 606 and audit readiness best practices.

Verify Employer Thoroughly
Research the company's identity thoroughly before applying. Check for a professional website with contacts, active social media, and LinkedIn profiles. Verify details across platforms and look for reviews on Glassdoor or Trustpilot to confirm legitimacy.
Never Pay to Get a Job
Legitimate employers never require payment for applications, training, background checks, or equipment. Always reject upfront payment requests or demands for bank details, even if they claim it's for purchasing necessary work gear on your behalf.
Safeguard Your Personal Information
Protect sensitive data like SSN, bank details, or ID copies. Share this only after accepting a formal, written job offer. Ensure it's submitted via a secure company system or portal, never through insecure channels like standard email attachments.
Scrutinize Communication & Interviews
Watch for communication red flags: poor grammar, generic emails (@gmail), vague details, or undue pressure. Be highly suspicious of interviews held only via text or chat apps; legitimate companies typically use video or phone calls.
Beware of Unrealistic Offers
If an offer's salary or benefits seem unrealistically high for the work involved, be cautious. Research standard pay for similar roles. Offers that appear 'too good to be true' are often scams designed to lure you into providing information or payment.
Insist on a Formal Contract
Always secure and review a formal, written job offer or employment contract before starting work or sharing final personal details. Ensure it clearly defines your role, compensation, key terms, and conditions to avoid misunderstandings or scams.
