An overview of this role
The Sales Strategy Manager - AMER role will be a critical partner in shaping GitLab's go-to-market strategy for the Americas region. This position plays a direct role in optimizing sales effectiveness and accelerating revenue growth across AMER direct sales. The role will be responsible for uncovering actionable insights from complex sales data and collaborating with sales leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to drive the Americas direct sales organization forward.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of translating analysis into strategic recommendations that drive measurable impact and improve sales performance.
What You'll Do
- Serve as primary business partner for multiple sales leaders in America, reporting to the Sr. Manager Sales Strategy AMER
- Drive strategic analysis and recommendations pertinent to the business
- Partner with regional sales leaders on sales management processes (forecasting, QBRs, pipeline analysis)
- Support the planning cycle end-to-end including capacity planning, carving, and quota setting
- Provide adhoc reporting and analysis to support business decision-making
- Create and deliver presentations to support CRO and Sales Leaders in strategic planning sessions
What You'll Bring
- 5-10 years of progressive experience in analytical and strategic roles within a technology business, with preference for Sales Strategy, Business Intelligence/Analytics, or Sales Operations experience
- Experience leading strategic initiatives and managing stakeholder relationships in a sales-focused environment
- Experience working with sales teams to analyze performance metrics and drive strategic decision-making
- Proficiency with SQL, Salesforce, and Tableau (or similar BI tools)
- Excellent quantitative analysis and problem-solving skills with ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
- Strong project management skills with ability to influence without direct authority
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple competing priorities
- Curiosity and eagerness to uncover new processes and insights that drive business impact
- Strong communication and presentation skills for executive-level audiences
- Alignment with GitLab's values
- Management consulting or strategy consulting experience valued but not required
- Experience in B2B SaaS or enterprise software sales environments preferred

The base salary range for this role’s listed level is currently for residents of listed locations only. Grade level and salary ranges are determined through interviews and a review of education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant, equity with other team members, and alignment with market data. See more information on our benefits and equity. Sales roles are also eligible for incentive pay targeted at up to 100% of the offered base salary.
