About the job

Twilio is seeking a qualified Senior Accountant to be a key contributor on our International Accounting team. Reporting to the Senior Manager, International Accounting, The Senior Accountant will play a crucial role in managing the financial operations in Mexico. This individual will be responsible for a variety of accounting tasks, including preparing financial statements, maintaining ledger accounts, and ensuring compliance with local financial regulations.this position will ensure our fixed assets, accruals, OPEX and other GL transactions are complete and accurate. We are looking for an individual excited to bring their passion for process improvement to a collaborative team-based working environment in a fast-growing company.

Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll:

  • Own the GL function of the Mexico Entity.
  • Support the accounts payable and receivables dealing with WHT and VAT calculations.
  • Prepare and post journal entries.
  • Conduct bank reconciliations and other balance sheet accounts reconciliations including Intercompany accounts.
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger.
  • Liaise with outsourced providers to prepare the tax fillings and ensure the compliance with local tax regulations.
  • Perform monthly tasks related to month end close and reporting to management.
  • Document business procedures as processes evolve across Mexico Entity,
  • Perform analytical review of their operations.
  • Identify and assist in facilitating process improvements to increase internal efficiencies that facilitate a fast growing and scaling company.
  • Assist management with projects related to systems and process improvements while meeting deadlines in a high volume and fast paced environment.
  • Coordinate and support the completion of external audits

*Required:

  • 4+ years experience working in a finance/accounting function.
  • Strong working knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, month-end close processes, operational and accounting procedures.
  • Experience with supporting accounts payable and receivable functions.
  • Experience working with Income Tax, WHT and VAT.
  • Ability to prioritize and work proactively and independently to meet deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Have managed local statutory audits and ensured compliance/regulatory filing deadlines have been met.
  • Team player with strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Accounting Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
  • Fluent in English & Spanish.

Desired:

  • Experience with Oracle ERP preferred.
  • Qualified accountant in Mexico.
  • Experience working at a fast growing Technology company.
  • Experience with Multinational companies and cross border collaboration

Location

This role will be remote, and based in Mexico City.

Travel
