About the Role

As the Senior Accountant, you will collaborate with the Senior Accounting Manager to support the Finance team and the continued growth of Subsplash. You will be responsible for a variety of accounting functions, analysis, and innovation of accounting processes. This role is intended to directly assist the Senior Accounting Manager in technical accounting research, collaboration with internal departments, and supporting third-party financial relationships. You will drive excellence in general ledger accounting in compliance with GAAP, monthly reporting, and compliance requirements. You will drive innovation and implement process improvements, internal controls, and system enhancements that will be a crucial foundation to keep the company thriving for years to come.

Your Priorities

  • Contribute to in month-end close through preparation of journal entries and corresponding balance sheet reconciliations to ensure that accruals and other balances are properly stated
  • Understand all transactions affecting general ledger accounts, investigate and resolve any anomalies and significant variances
  • Collaborate cross-departmentally to support ongoing business processes, drive synergies between internal teams, and create efficiencies to allow greater financial insights
  • Lead accounting activities related to acquisition integration, including preparing entries to record proper revenue recognition, purchase accounting and consolidation into the Subsplash financial statements
  • Drive third-party financial audits through completion of support requests and inquiries
  • Prepare and ensure completion of debt covenant reporting requirements
  • Conduct technical accounting research, present results to leadership, and update financial records when necessary
  • Lead system migrations implementation and innovate utilization of current systems
  • Assist with the adoption, documentation, and ongoing requirements of new accounting standards to ensure compliance with GAAP
  • Support as needed daily accounting operations, including treasury management and procurement
  • Create and maintain reporting metrics in collaboration with the FP&A group
  • Document accounting procedures and monitor internal controls
  • Work on other special projects related to financial systems and financial statement preparation as assigned

Your Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience, public accounting preferred
  • Undergraduate degree in Finance or Accounting
  • CPA license or CPA Candidate strongly preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and other accounting principles
  • Willingness to dig into the details, problem solve, and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Experience working in SaaS, payment processing, and/or startup environment is a plus

Compensation

  • The overall compensation for this position is between $85,000-$110,000/yr depending on experience level.

Location

Subsplash currently has operations in 27 states across the US! As much as we would love to have employees in as many states and countries as we have clients, we are currently limiting hiring to the states we already operate in. As a result of that, this role is only available as a 100% remote position if you reside in one of the following states:

AL, AR, AZ, CO, FL, GA, ID, IA, IN, KS, KY, MO, MI, MN, NC, NM, OK, OH, OR, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, WY.

Unfortunately, if you do not reside in one of these states, we are unable to consider your application.
