About the role:
Ethos is seeking an ambitious and results-driven Senior Accounting Manager to lead and optimize corporate accounting operations in a dynamic, fast-growing environment. This strategic role is ideal for a proactive financial leader with deep technical expertise who thrives on solving complex accounting challenges, driving operational efficiencies, and ensuring strict compliance with GAAP and SOX 404 regulations.

As Senior Accounting Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping our accounting function, leading high-impact optimization initiatives, and ensuring the integrity of our financial operations. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead core accounting functions, including overseeing month-end close processes, financial reporting, and execution of annual external audits to ensure compliance and accuracy
- Manage complex technical and operational areas, including journal entries, account reconciliations, disclosure schedules, and fluctuation analyses to support key management decisions
- Ensure compliance with SOX 404 and oversee the accuracy of quarterly and annual financial filings
- Own the accounting function for our Enterprise Agent Business, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency
- Optimize process improvements, automation initiatives, and financial reporting enhancements to support scalable growth
- Collaborate closely with HR, Operations, Finance, and Legal, ensuring financial accuracy and alignment with company-wide initiatives
- Manage accounting functions for international subsidiaries, including financial consolidation across multi-entity and multi-currency businesses
- Oversee and validate the Accounts Payable operations, ensuring timely and accurate payments while serving as the primary point of contact for employee expense reimbursement and corporate credit card inquiries
- Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
- Mentor and develop the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment
- Support ad-hoc projects (system implementations, upgrades, integrations, and process improvements), providing strategic guidance and expertise across financial operations
Qualification and Skills:
- 7+ years of experience in a corporate accounting role —ideally in a high-growth or public company
- Strong problem solving skills, and ability to diagnose problems independently
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop teams
- Excellent communication skills and effective cross-functional collaborator
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for identifying operational efficiencies and process improvements
- Strong Excel skills required
- Experience with NetSuite, Navan, or similar financial platforms
- Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

The US national pay range for this full-time position is $108,000 - $191,000. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
