Your Mission 🫵
As aSenior Backend Engineeron our Seller Experience team, you'll be instrumental in building and scaling the systems that power our seller platform. Working within an autonomous squad, you'll develop the infrastructure and services that enable sellers to thrive on our platform. You'll be responsible for:
System Architecture: Designing and implementing highly scalable backend services and APIs that power our seller tools, from shipping integrations to AI-driven features
Technical Innovation: Creating robust, maintainable solutions for complex seller-focused challenges while ensuring optimal performance and reliability
Infrastructure Development: Building and maintaining the cloud infrastructure that supports our growing seller ecosystem, ensuring high availability and scalability
You must be prepared to jump into a start-up environment; if you're risk-averse this isn't the right place for you. We seek passionate, driven individuals eager to learn quickly, work hard, and help us shape the future.
Technical stack and tools
Our frontend is built with VueJS and TypeScript
On the backend we mainly use NodeJS
On mobile we use native iOS (Swift, SwiftUI and UIKit) and native Android (Kotlin and Jetpack Compose) with a shared layer of KMP
Other core technologies include AWS, Express, Vite, and Webpack, NPM, Cypress, GraphQL, and more
About you 📋
Strong experience developing and deploying highly scalable applications and APIs in production environments
Deep knowledge of the NodeJS ecosystem and its associated technologies
Extensive experience with AWS services and infrastructure as code
Strong foundation in database design and management, particularly with relational databases
You're an ambitious problem-solver who thrives in fast-paced environments
You communicate technical concepts clearly and work effectively in autonomous teams
You're passionate about building systems that empower sellers and enhance their experience
Bonus skills
Experience with frontend technologies (VueJS, React)
Expertise with NestJS framework
Proficiency in GraphQL API development
Experience with AWS Typescript CDK
Knowledge of document databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB)
Experience with AWS Data Pipelines (Glue, SageMaker)
Location
We're open to hiring remotely within 2 hours of UK time
London-based candidates can join us at our Canary Wharf Office (most engineers do 3 days a week)
