Opportunity
Join an innovative team at the intersection of healthcare and advanced technology. As a Senior Backend Engineer in our Infrastructure group, you will play a key role in building the next-generation data store, data pipeline, and AI platform. Collaborating with data, AI, and product teams at Twin, you’ll help lay the foundation for data-driven AI products and scale our growing business.
You’ll work alongside passionate software engineers, architects, and AI experts committed to pushing the boundaries of innovation and excellence. Responsibilities
- Data Pipeline Development: Design, develop, and maintain scalable, reliable data pipelines to ingest, transform, and store structured/unstructured data, and export transformed data back to transactional stores.
- Data Transformation & Processing: Implement microservices and scheduled jobs for complex data transformations, deploy them to production, and manage infrastructure setup and monitoring.
- Core Platform Development: Contribute to our platform framework by building custom libraries and tools to enhance engineering efficiency and AI software development.
- Architecture & Execution: Drive architecture decisions, collaborate with team leads, and execute projects to deliver impactful outcomes.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with Data Platform, AI Platform, Infra, Analytics, and Product teams to define and execute data-driven strategies.
- Performance & Scalability: Monitor and optimize the performance, cost-efficiency, and scalability of data and platform infrastructure.
- Code Quality & Best Practices: Write clean, maintainable, and scalable code while adhering to software development best practices.
- Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience, with 3+ years of backend engineering experience, particularly in data-intensive applications.
- Strong experience with SQL and data modeling for analytical workloads.
- Proficiency in Python and/or Java for data processing and software development.
- Experience with event-driven architectures(Kafka, SQS, Snowflake Stream, AWS Lambda), and microservices.
- Proven experience in designing and building scalable data pipelines, and distributed systems.
- Experience collaborating with AI and analytics teams to integrate data-driven solutions into products.
- Ability to contribute to architecture decisions and technical discussions within engineering teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot data pipeline failures, performance bottlenecks, and support AI development.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working cross-functionally across data, platform, infra, and product teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on expertise with Snowflake or similar data warehouse technologies (BigQuery, Redshift, Databricks).
- Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure), Kubernetes, Airflow, and version control systems (Git).
- Familiarity with AI/ML workflows and data pipelines.
- Experience working in fast-paced, high-growth startup environments
- Experience and passion for Generative AI and Prompt Engineering

Compensation and Benefits
The compensation range for this position is $160,000-$180,000 annually.
