Quanata is seeking a Platform Engineer to join us in providing a suite of solutions that enable our product development and engineering organization to create, and deliver Quanata’s technical offerings. Our team focuses on enabling software engineers to reliably and rapidly deliver software, and manage the company’s cloud infrastructure.
Your day-to-day
- Design and develop the platform architecture, including infrastructure, networking, and software components.
- Seek out and evaluate new technologies and make recommendations for their use as new platform features, capabilities and patterns, and improve system reliability.
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure their applications are optimized for deployment in an IAC environment, and meet security and compliance needs.
- Develop and maintain automation and deployment processes to enable and improve developer experience and efficiency.
- Implement monitoring and logging solutions to ensure the platform is performing at its best and identify areas for improvement.
- Encourage developer autonomy and self-service by contributing to developer training and documentation for Platform products.
- Promote a supportive culture focused on building reliable systems and processes based on established best practices in the industry.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in the platform, including performance and scalability issues.
- Implement security and compliance measures to ensure the platform meets regulatory requirements.
- Participate in on-call rotation to provide support for internal developer services.
About you
- Bachelor’s of Science in Computer Science or equivalent relevant professional experience and;
- Eight or more years of experience in platform engineering or developer experience tooling to include:
- Five or more years of experience working with consumer facing websites and technologies.
- Three or more years of experience working with distributed systems.
- Experience and understanding of CI/CD processes and tooling such as GitLab, Github, or Jenkins.
- Experience and understanding of Go, Python, or Bash languages
- Experience and understanding of Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Pulumi.
- Experienced enabling and troubleshooting containerized workloads in ECS, Docker Swarm or Kubernetes.
- Experience working in GCP or AWS.
- Enjoy working on infrastructure but engage in understanding your customer needs.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to contribute during code reviews, and capture tasks.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and great attention to detail.

Salary: $190,000 to $255,000*
*Please note that the final salary offered will be determined based on the selected candidate's skills, and experience, as well as the internal salary structure at Quanata. Employees based in the San Francisco Bay Area or in Providence, Rhode Island may commute to one of our local offices as desired.
- Hours: We maintain core meeting hours from 9AM - 2PM Pacific time for collaborating with team members across all time zones.
