Senior Fullstack Engineer (Backend Leaning)

Base is planning to bring a million developers and a billion users onchain. We need your help to make that happen.

Base is built on Optimism’s open-source OP Stack. We’re joining as the second Core Dev team working on the OP Stack to ensure it’s a public good available to everyone; and contributing a portion of sequencer revenue to funding public goods.
We are looking for a strong Senior Fullstack Engineer (Backend leaning) to join the Base team with emphasis in backend onchain engineering, to enable and accelerate the success of Base.
What you'll be doing:
- Building and maintaining backend Golang systems that power Base
- Working with Kubernetes and Cloud services to automate and maintain critical blockchain infrastructure
- Engaging in research and prototyping of groundbreaking ideas to improve efficiency and scalability of blockchain clients
What we look for in you:
- You have at least 5 years of experience in software engineering or systems engineering
- You've developed and shipped features of core backend systems at massive scale
- You’re familiar with current trends and best practices in infrastructure and systems design
- You write high quality, well tested and maintainable code
Nice to haves:
- You’re comfortable with Golang, Geth, Foundry, Solidity, or other crypto tools
- You have contributed to open source crypto projects, for example OP Stack contributions or Base contributions
- You’ve familiar with Kubernetes or cloud providers such as AWS or GCP
