Job Description
The Mission:
It’s all on you… because behind every productive Chainguardian is an exceptional IT experience. And you are the key to delivering it! You're the unsung hero behind the scenes, turning chaos into calm and “uh-ohs” into “all set!” Not all heroes wear capes, but we won’t be mad if you show up to all-hands rocking one. Mask optional.
Where we will really need your superpowers is powering our remote-first culture by making tools, systems, and support feel like flying. You’ll keep things humming across laptops, logins, and the occasional AV fire drill with no drama but plenty of memes! You will be enabling people to do their best work, quickly, securely and confidently. You’ve got this!
Yes, this role is fully remote, but we’re looking for someone based in the U.S. Eastern Time zone to keep collaboration smooth and support timely.
What you’ll do:
- Be the hero in the Slack thread when someone can’t login to Okta).
- Take pride in responding quickly and kindly to IT support requests via Slack, email, or our ticketing system.
- Provision laptops, software, and systems in a single bound, so new Chainguardians hit the ground running and don’t have to ask, “Wait, what’s my password?”.
- Team up with HR and Recruiting to make onboarding feel more “welcome party” and less “technical scavenger hunt .”
- Keep our internal IT docs clear, helpful, and typo-free.
- Troubleshoot issues across macOS and Linux endpoints.
- Keep an eye on MDMs and security tooling, because “compliance” doesn’t mean “complacent.”
- Help out at offsites with A/V setups and know exactly which cable no one ever remembers.
- Jump into on-call rotations (some holidays) with good vibes, a charged battery pack, and a 16 ounce triple latte.
- Suggest improvements, automate what’s repetitive, and generally make things smoother, smarter, and less frustrating for everyone.
What we're looking for:
- Experience in IT support, especially in a remote or fast-paced startup environment.
- Comfort with macOS, Linux, and mobile device management (MDM) platforms.
- Clear communicator with a gift for explaining tech to non-technical people.
- Empathy, patience, and a people-first mindset.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and comfortable juggling multiple priorities.
- Security never takes a holiday! You are security-conscious, with an eye for systems that scale.
- A team player excited to help support your teammates when they’ve had too many triple lattes.
- Ability to travel on a quarterly basis.
Why you’ll love it here:
- You’ll be trusted: We hire smart, kind people and give them the autonomy to do great work.
- You’ll power productivity at the speed of trust. Your work ensures our team can move fast without breaking things because security and usability can and should coexist.
- You’ll work with good humans: Chainguardians are humble, helpful, and sharp. We believe in doing meaningful work and treating people well while we do it.
- You’ll experience remote done right: We’re a distributed team with a strong async culture, respectful of your time zone, and focused on outcomes. You’ll find yourself laughing out loud in your home office!
- We want to hear your ideas: We're pretty sure we haven’t thought of everything.

Verify Employer Thoroughly
Research the company's identity thoroughly before applying. Check for a professional website with contacts, active social media, and LinkedIn profiles. Verify details across platforms and look for reviews on Glassdoor or Trustpilot to confirm legitimacy.
Never Pay to Get a Job
Legitimate employers never require payment for applications, training, background checks, or equipment. Always reject upfront payment requests or demands for bank details, even if they claim it's for purchasing necessary work gear on your behalf.
Safeguard Your Personal Information
Protect sensitive data like SSN, bank details, or ID copies. Share this only after accepting a formal, written job offer. Ensure it's submitted via a secure company system or portal, never through insecure channels like standard email attachments.
Scrutinize Communication & Interviews
Watch for communication red flags: poor grammar, generic emails (@gmail), vague details, or undue pressure. Be highly suspicious of interviews held only via text or chat apps; legitimate companies typically use video or phone calls.
Beware of Unrealistic Offers
If an offer's salary or benefits seem unrealistically high for the work involved, be cautious. Research standard pay for similar roles. Offers that appear 'too good to be true' are often scams designed to lure you into providing information or payment.
Insist on a Formal Contract
Always secure and review a formal, written job offer or employment contract before starting work or sharing final personal details. Ensure it clearly defines your role, compensation, key terms, and conditions to avoid misunderstandings or scams.
