Offshore Launch

Senior IT Systems Engineer (L2 - MSP)

Job Description

About Offshore Launch

Offshore Launch is a staffing agency that specializes in helping small business owners scale their operations with the top 1% of global remote talent. We are a people-centered agency with a passion for leaving every person and business in a better position than we found them.

Why Join Offshore Launch?

  • Impact the growth and success of small and medium-sized businesses.
  • Work in a people-first, remote environment that values growth and ongoing development.
  • Access comprehensive benefits that include HMO, PTO, professional development, and an overall emphasis on teamwork and collaboration.
  • Contribute to a culture that values partnership, service, and excellence.

Your Role

As an employee of Offshore Launch, you are being hired for a unique role within a target Client’s company. We value long-term partnerships, and seek to recruit talent that will serve an individual Client’s business for multiple years.

You will work full-time with the Client company. However, the Agency provides ongoing support to ensure your continued success. As such, we create space for ongoing check-ins, feedback and development through:

  • Membership in the Offshore Launch Slack workspace
  • Bi-weekly All Team meetings
  • Monthly reviews

Your job is to help the Client succeed.

Our job is to help you succeed.

About the Client:

We’ve proudly served the Portland and Washington areas for over 20 years, delivering innovative IT solutions and exceptional client service.

We’re looking for a well-rounded, client-ready systems engineer to support our growing MSP team. You’ll bring strong technical skills, excellent communication, and sound judgment—knowing when to act independently and when to ask for help.

This isn’t a role for a lone wolf—we succeed through collaboration, resourcefulness, and shared ownership. You should be confident in your ability to deploy, configure, and support infrastructure, but humble enough to know when it’s time to loop others in.

If you're the kind of person who takes initiative, communicates clearly, and genuinely cares about the client experience, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a trusted technical resource for escalated support, infrastructure projects, and client onboarding

  • Deploy and manage Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and GPOs

  • Configure and support SonicWall firewalls, including VPNs and NAT policies

  • Execute disaster recovery procedures using tools like ShadowProtect, Datto, or Veeam

  • Administer and troubleshoot cloud platforms, including Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and Google Workspace

  • Communicate proactively with clients—troubleshoot issues, set expectations, and build trust

  • Ask for help when needed—collaborate with the team to avoid spinning cycles or wasting billable time

  • Use RMM tools (e.g., N-Able) to monitor and address infrastructure alerts

  • Create and update client documentation (e.g., IT Glue, Autotask)

  • Automate repetitive tasks using basic PowerShell or batch scripting

  • Prioritize client outcomes—deliver the right result, not just the right answer

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an IT consulting or MSP environment (non-negotiable)

  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills—clear, professional, and client-facing
  • Proven ability to deploy and manage Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and GPOs

  • Hands-on experience with SonicWall firewall configuration, including site-to-site VPNs and NAT policies

  • Practical experience executing disaster recovery using tools like ShadowProtect, Datto, or Veeam

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Entra ID (Azure AD), and Google Workspace

  • Familiarity with virtualization platforms such as Hyper-V and VMware

  • Basic experience with PowerShell and/or batch scripting for automation

  • Experience using RMM and PSA tools (e.g., N-Able, Autotask, IT Glue)

  • Willing to work PST hours

  • Exceptional client service and communication skills—you can explain technical issues clearly to non-technical users and create calm in stressful situations

  • Demonstrated ability to ask for help when appropriate and collaborate to solve problems efficiently

  • Strong attention to detail, reliability, and ownership of outcomes—not just tasks

Compensation & Benefits (to be provided by Offshore Launch):

  • $2,000-3,000/mo depending on experience
  • $500 bonus at 90-day
  • 13th month pay (paid on Jun 1 and Dec 1).
  • Comprehensive HMO policy, including dependents.
  • Annual continuing education budget to support professional development
  • Start date: immediate

Note: The Client is not involved in compensation or benefits. As an employee of Offshore Launch, all compensation and benefits are to be provided by the Agency.

Safe Remote Job Search Tips

Verify Employer Thoroughly

Research the company's identity thoroughly before applying. Check for a professional website with contacts, active social media, and LinkedIn profiles. Verify details across platforms and look for reviews on Glassdoor or Trustpilot to confirm legitimacy.

Never Pay to Get a Job

Legitimate employers never require payment for applications, training, background checks, or equipment. Always reject upfront payment requests or demands for bank details, even if they claim it's for purchasing necessary work gear on your behalf.

Safeguard Your Personal Information

Protect sensitive data like SSN, bank details, or ID copies. Share this only after accepting a formal, written job offer. Ensure it's submitted via a secure company system or portal, never through insecure channels like standard email attachments.

Scrutinize Communication & Interviews

Watch for communication red flags: poor grammar, generic emails (@gmail), vague details, or undue pressure. Be highly suspicious of interviews held only via text or chat apps; legitimate companies typically use video or phone calls.

Beware of Unrealistic Offers

If an offer's salary or benefits seem unrealistically high for the work involved, be cautious. Research standard pay for similar roles. Offers that appear 'too good to be true' are often scams designed to lure you into providing information or payment.

Insist on a Formal Contract

Always secure and review a formal, written job offer or employment contract before starting work or sharing final personal details. Ensure it clearly defines your role, compensation, key terms, and conditions to avoid misunderstandings or scams.
