Team Description:
Ranking is a core and growing part of Reddit, connecting users with the content they’re looking for is key to the future of Reddit. The ML Ranking Foundation team builds and runs the services that coordinate contextualized and personalized ranking on Reddit.

Role Description:
As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer, Ranking Foundation, you’ll work with the billions of events and terabytes of data generated every day to personalize Reddit posts and comments for each user on the platform, helping them connect and engage with their communities while discovering the best of Reddit. Owning projects from ideation to production, you will work closely with Backend Architects, Product Managers, Machine Learning and domain experts to deliver best in class personalized ranking systems that will advance Reddit’s efforts to bring community and belonging to everyone on the planet.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate on projects with other Ranking Foundation and Core Experience engineers where you’ll apply Machine Learning to personalization, discovery and recommendation problems
  • Build and deploy sophisticated machine learning models to improve experiences for millions of users
  • Run experiments, evaluate results and advocate for a decision with next steps
  • Collaborate across disciplines and with other ML teams at Reddit

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience with industry-level deep learning models
  • 4+ years of end-to-end experience of training, evaluating, testing, and deploying industry-level models
  • 2+ years of experience with mainstream ML frameworks (such as Tensorflow and Pytorch)
  • Successful track record of applying machine learning techniques in addressing real-world problems
  • Experience in content recommendations, and content personalization is a plus
  • Passionate about building delightful products for users

In addition to base salary, this job is eligible to receive equity in the form of restricted stock units, and depending on the position offered, it may also be eligible to receive a commission. $216,700$303,400 USD
