Job Description
The role in a nutshell:
At Chainguard, we believe that internal communications are critical to building a high-trust, high-performing, and aligned team. We’re hiring a Senior Manager of Internal Communications to shape and scale the way we communicate across the company. This role will drive strategic, clear, and engaging communication between leadership and employees. As a fully remote company, this function is essential to building a strong culture — and we consider our culture to be part of our brand.
You will own key communication channels including our Weekly All Hands, internal newsletter, and bi-annual company Summit content. And you’ll thrive in this role if you’re an empathetic and creative communicator who can balance strategy with flawless execution and cross-functional collaboration.
What you’ll do:
- Lead company-wide internal communications strategy and execution, ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment across all channels and moments.
- Own and continuously improve Weekly All Hands, including agenda curation, speaker preparation, logistics, and executive scripting.
- Produce and manage our weekly internal newsletter, keeping teams informed, aligned, and energized about company updates, wins, and strategic priorities.
- Drive content planning and messaging for our bi-annual in-person summits, including executive keynotes, ancillary content, and cross-functional activities.
- Develop executive communications in partnership with senior leaders — writing, editing, or advising on emails, scripts, FAQs, and change management.
- Build playbooks and frameworks for repeatable communications (e.g., strategy rollouts, product milestones, org changes, business system updates, and more).
- Uphold and evolve our tone of voice internally — communicating with warmth, clarity, humility, and purpose. (Oh, and humor. We do serious work, but don’t take ourselves too seriously.)
- Use data and feedback loops to measure the impact of internal communications and iterate accordingly.
What we’re looking for:
- 10+ years of experience in internal communications, executive communications, or related fields — ideally in a high-growth tech or remote-first environment.
- Exceptional writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex or sensitive topics into clear, human language.
- Executive presence and stakeholder management, with a track record of working closely with C-level leaders.
- High emotional intelligence and sound judgment — especially in high-stakes or ambiguous communication situations.
- Strong program management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple threads and deadlines with calm and focus.
- Experience running large-scale internal events, including All Hands and company summits.
- Comfort with distributed teams and async-first communications — we’re a remote company and that shapes how we operate.

Verify Employer Thoroughly
Research the company's identity thoroughly before applying. Check for a professional website with contacts, active social media, and LinkedIn profiles. Verify details across platforms and look for reviews on Glassdoor or Trustpilot to confirm legitimacy.
Never Pay to Get a Job
Legitimate employers never require payment for applications, training, background checks, or equipment. Always reject upfront payment requests or demands for bank details, even if they claim it's for purchasing necessary work gear on your behalf.
Safeguard Your Personal Information
Protect sensitive data like SSN, bank details, or ID copies. Share this only after accepting a formal, written job offer. Ensure it's submitted via a secure company system or portal, never through insecure channels like standard email attachments.
Scrutinize Communication & Interviews
Watch for communication red flags: poor grammar, generic emails (@gmail), vague details, or undue pressure. Be highly suspicious of interviews held only via text or chat apps; legitimate companies typically use video or phone calls.
Beware of Unrealistic Offers
If an offer's salary or benefits seem unrealistically high for the work involved, be cautious. Research standard pay for similar roles. Offers that appear 'too good to be true' are often scams designed to lure you into providing information or payment.
Insist on a Formal Contract
Always secure and review a formal, written job offer or employment contract before starting work or sharing final personal details. Ensure it clearly defines your role, compensation, key terms, and conditions to avoid misunderstandings or scams.
