Job Description

We’re looking for a Senior Performance Marketing Manager to own and scale our paid marketing channels. You’ll be responsible for managing and optimizing Tailscale’s investment across digital and physical channels including SEM, paid social, out-of-home (OOH), sponsorships, and other experimental formats. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role that sits at the core of our go-to-market strategy and connects directly to both self-serve and sales revenue goals.

This is an individual contributor role today, but we are actively looking for someone with the curiosity, analytical sharpness, and leadership potential to grow into a team lead as we scale.

The ideal candidate has deep curiosity about our target audiences, is very knowledgeable about advertising tech and has extensive hands-on experience, has a track record of high ROI impact from advertising, and is eager to experiment and constantly up-level our performance marketing program.

Responsibilities

  • Own and operate our paid marketing program end-to-end, including strategy, execution, measurement, and optimization
  • Manage spend and campaigns across Google Ads, Bing, YouTube, LinkedIn, Reddit, newsletters, podcasts, billboards, and other growth channels
  • Develop and execute an experimentation roadmap across performance and brand campaigns to drive traffic, organization activations, subscriptions, and sales pipeline
  • Define and track key metrics (CAC, payback, activation rate, ROAS, LTV:CAC, etc.) in partnership with growth, sales, data, and finance
  • Write creative briefs and partner with brand and content teams to develop compelling ad creative
  • Analyze campaign performance and share insights and recommendations across the teamSupport major campaign motions including product launches, competitor takeouts, and account-based marketing (ABM) initiativesCollaborate cross-functionally with product marketing, lifecycle, comms, SEO, and web to ensure performance programs amplify our broader GTM strategyStay current on ad platform changes, best practices, and SaaS benchmarks

What We’re Looking For

  • 4-7+ years of experience in B2B performance marketing, preferably at a high-growth SaaS company
  • Demonstrated ability to scale and optimize paid programs across multiple channels (SEM, display, video, social, OOH, etc.)
  • Strong analytical mindset with comfort using tools like Looker, Google Analytics, and Excel/Sheets
  • A clear communicator and strategic thinker who can simplify complex problems and drive cross-functional alignment
  • A program manager who thinks in systems, templates, and repeatable playbooks
  • Outcome-orientation and a desire to build the best performance marketing program in the industry
  • Relentless curiosity about our target audiences, Tailscale users, and Tailscale itself
  • Comfort with ambiguity and a willingness to experiment and iterate quickly

Tailscale's compensation package includes base salary, equity, and comprehensive benefits. The salary range displayed on each job posting represents the target range for a new hire's base salary. Individual offers may vary based on experience and skill set.

$131,000$164,000 USD
