We’re looking for a Senior Performance Test Engineer who can go beyond traditional black-box testing and play a critical role in performance issue analysis and optimization. In this role, you will help ensure our systems scale efficiently to meet growing business demands in a fast-paced CI/CD environment.
What You’ll Do
- Design, develop, and execute load and performance testing strategies
- Investigate performance issues in both test and production environments
- Collaborate closely with developers to understand service architecture and behavior, define relevant KPIs, and implement effective observability and monitoring
- Provide actionable optimization recommendations across database, infrastructure, and application code
- Correlate test results with production metrics to validate expected system behavior
- Build and maintain modular, reusable test scripts that can adapt to evolving project needs
- Simulate real-world user scenarios to help teams reproduce and resolve complex production issues
- Analyze system telemetry to identify and troubleshoot live performance bottlenecks
- Support peak season planning efforts by validating system resilience and scalability under projected peak loads
- Participation in on-call rotation, as needed
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 5+ years of experience in QA, Development, or Site Reliability with a strong focus on performance engineering
- Proficiency in Python or JavaScript/Go/Ruby, and SQL
- Hands-on experience with microservices-based architectures, AWS, and APM tools such as New Relic, AppDynamics, or Dynatrace
- Expertise with any performance testing tools such as JMeter, Locust, k6, Gatling
- Ability to extract and analyze performance metrics from relational databases
- Strong grasp of performance testing methodologies, planning, and root cause analysis techniques
- Experience in fast-paced agile environments with short release cycles
- Detail-oriented with a methodical and analytical approach to problem-solving
