Your Mission:
As part of the Engine team, you’ll play a vital role in an environment where innovation meets collaboration. Here’s what you’ll take charge of:
- Build and Maintain Mobile Codebase Infrastructure: Develop and optimize our codebase to improve performance, codebase health, and improve mobile developer experience (React Native).
- Evolve our Processes: Collaborate with engineering teams across the organization to refine our processes for development, testing, and app releases to help us move with speed and confidence.
- Ensure Code Quality & Best Practices: Write clean, modular, and well-documented code following industry best practices, including TypeScript and unit testing.
- Observability & Stability: Build dashboards using tools like Datadog to track how our users experience our product.
- Collaboration & Documentation: Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, provide technical guidance, and document codebase onboarding.
- Tooling & Automation: Improve workflows by integrating tools for testing (Jest, React Testing Library, Maestro), and CI/CD pipelines.
What You’ll Bring to Engine:
We’re looking for someone who’s ready to make an impact and grow alongside us:
- 4+ years of hands-on experience
- Strong React Native development experience
- Proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6+), and modern front-end best practices.
- Deep understanding of the React Native ecosystem, including build processes, best practices, and how React Native apps work on the native layer
- Experience with state management (e.g., Redux, Zustand, React Context).
- Familiarity with observability tools like Datadog, LogRocket, Sentry, and Amplitude
- The ability to maintain a holistic view of the codebase and its long-term health
- Experience with testing frameworks (Jest, React Testing Library, Maestro)
- Experience working in agile development environments and collaborating with designers and engineers.
- Nice to have: Experience with Expo
- Nice to have: Familiarity with navigating App Store Connect and Google Play Console
- Nice to have: Native development experience with Swift and/or Kotlin
This is a full-time contractor position within Latin America.
