The Activation Foundation team tackles the biggest opportunity to Pinterest’s growth - helping new and low engaged users experience the magic of Pinterest’s personalized recommendations. This team operates horizontally to improve the experience of underserved users by creating and driving adoption of new user signals, addressing bias and gaps in our core recommendation systems, and identifying opportunities for innovation within our technical foundations.
What you’ll do:
- Set our vision, strategy, and roadmap for re-engaging and improving how hundreds of millions of Pinners get content recommendations each month by leveraging Pinterest’s existing recommendation systems as well as innovative new technologies
- Support your team in understanding user pain points and define a prioritized roadmap to execute on your plans
- Work cross-functionally with machine learning engineers, data science, legal, and operations to support relevance improvements for underserved users
- Partner with the rest of our Pinner experience and relevance teams to extend our core value prop in engaging content loops for Pinners
- Communicate your strategy upward and outward internally to ensure you have the support you need to be successful
What we’re looking for:
- 5+ years product management or related experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to drive alignment among multiple stakeholders
- Technical background or relevant machine learning experience that lets you dive deep into data and complex technical problems
- Ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences in written and verbal communication
- Inquisitiveness to learn new domains and systematically work through ambiguity and competing concerns with your team
- Ability to manage and prioritize within a portfolio of projects that build on each other to create a coherent system
- A strong growth mindset and ability to listen to and action upon feedback
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, or equivalent experience

Safe Remote Job Search Tips
Verify Employer Thoroughly
Research the company's identity thoroughly before applying. Check for a professional website with contacts, active social media, and LinkedIn profiles. Verify details across platforms and look for reviews on Glassdoor or Trustpilot to confirm legitimacy.
Never Pay to Get a Job
Legitimate employers never require payment for applications, training, background checks, or equipment. Always reject upfront payment requests or demands for bank details, even if they claim it's for purchasing necessary work gear on your behalf.
Safeguard Your Personal Information
Protect sensitive data like SSN, bank details, or ID copies. Share this only after accepting a formal, written job offer. Ensure it's submitted via a secure company system or portal, never through insecure channels like standard email attachments.
Scrutinize Communication & Interviews
Watch for communication red flags: poor grammar, generic emails (@gmail), vague details, or undue pressure. Be highly suspicious of interviews held only via text or chat apps; legitimate companies typically use video or phone calls.
Beware of Unrealistic Offers
If an offer's salary or benefits seem unrealistically high for the work involved, be cautious. Research standard pay for similar roles. Offers that appear 'too good to be true' are often scams designed to lure you into providing information or payment.
Insist on a Formal Contract
Always secure and review a formal, written job offer or employment contract before starting work or sharing final personal details. Ensure it clearly defines your role, compensation, key terms, and conditions to avoid misunderstandings or scams.
