Job Description

Affirm is reinventing credit to make it more honest and friendly, giving consumers the flexibility to buy now and pay later without any hidden fees or compounding interest.

As a Senior Product Manager on the Money Movement team, you will play a key role in developing our financial platforms for scalable international expansion and building out cross-border payments for our merchants and partners. We are a global team, stretching across the US, Canada, and Europe, with a vision to proactively build category-leading monetary infrastructure, support every transaction with institution-class availability, and capture new value from our closed loop payment network. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including accounting, treasury, capital markets, and client success teams to achieve that vision.

What you’ll do

  • You’ll be a key member of numerous large, cross-functional projects, driving the execution of critical components, and counted on for taking something from idea to requirements to reality

  • You’ll interact directly with banks, merchants, and key external partners, discovering and building innovative new ways to move money to them across the globe

  • You’ll act as the subject matter expert for currencies, payment rails, treasury systems, and bank connectivity

  • You’ll not only master the best-in-class tools available to do this today, but proactively seek out new ways to push the envelope

  • You’ll gather stakeholder requirements, balance conflicting needs, and distill a crisp, actionable problem statement

  • You’ll navigate complex regulatory environments, partnering with legal and compliance teams

  • You’ll be in the details of critical systems that are counted on to ensure the health and liquidity of our payment network

  • You’ll be independent, autonomous, and decisive, but be supported by a talented and driven team

What we look for

  • 5+ years of Product Management or equivalent experience in the software tech industry, with fintech, payment processing, banking, or treasury experience a plus

  • Outstanding document writing, verbal communication, and presentation skills with diverse stakeholders

  • Robust project management abilities, long-term thinking, and proven track record of planning and delivering on timelines

  • Strong attention to detail, MECE-thinking, and excitement to dig in and explore the edge cases

  • Experience operating independently, ruthlessly prioritizing, and relentlessly executing on your commitments

  • Comfortable working internationally, in ambiguous environments with changing priorities and deadlines

  • Basic technical understanding but strong curiosity that allows you to have technical discussions and opinions

  • Bonus: direct experience with BNPL, eCommerce, card processing, or banking, and fundamental accounting knowledge

Safe Remote Job Search Tips

Verify Employer Thoroughly

Research the company's identity thoroughly before applying. Check for a professional website with contacts, active social media, and LinkedIn profiles. Verify details across platforms and look for reviews on Glassdoor or Trustpilot to confirm legitimacy.

Never Pay to Get a Job

Legitimate employers never require payment for applications, training, background checks, or equipment. Always reject upfront payment requests or demands for bank details, even if they claim it's for purchasing necessary work gear on your behalf.

Safeguard Your Personal Information

Protect sensitive data like SSN, bank details, or ID copies. Share this only after accepting a formal, written job offer. Ensure it's submitted via a secure company system or portal, never through insecure channels like standard email attachments.

Scrutinize Communication & Interviews

Watch for communication red flags: poor grammar, generic emails (@gmail), vague details, or undue pressure. Be highly suspicious of interviews held only via text or chat apps; legitimate companies typically use video or phone calls.

Beware of Unrealistic Offers

If an offer's salary or benefits seem unrealistically high for the work involved, be cautious. Research standard pay for similar roles. Offers that appear 'too good to be true' are often scams designed to lure you into providing information or payment.

Insist on a Formal Contract

Always secure and review a formal, written job offer or employment contract before starting work or sharing final personal details. Ensure it clearly defines your role, compensation, key terms, and conditions to avoid misunderstandings or scams.
