The role, in a nutshell:
We are looking for an experienced Senior Revenue Accountant to join our growing Accounting team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to take ownership of critical financial processes and contribute greatly to our organization’s growth. Reporting directly to the Senior Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for managing the revenue recognition processes, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and maintaining accurate financial records. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and is ready to make a substantial impact.
What you’ll do:
- Lead the revenue recognition process and ensure compliance with ASC 606
- Review customer contracts, identify non-standard terms, and determine appropriate revenue recognition treatment
- Monitor deferred revenue balances and maintain waterfall schedules
- Assist with monthly and quarterly accounting close activities, including preparation of customer invoices, revenue journal entries, account reconciliations, and flux analyses
- Collaborate with sales, legal, and operations teams to review contract terms
- Develop and document revenue recognition policies and procedures
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
- Support external audits by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries
- Participate in ad-hoc projects, as needed
What we're looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance; CPA certification is a plus
- Minimum 4 years of accounting experience with at least 2 years focused on revenue recognition
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, particularly ASC 606
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and execute multiple tasks, with high commitment to quality and adherence to strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment
