Your Role:

Reporting to the Senior Director of Performance Marketing, the Senior SEO Manager will work closely with leadership to develop SEO strategy while taking ownership of planning and executing key initiatives. This role is responsible for increasing organic visibility, driving website traffic for Tenable.com and its sub-domains, and improving conversion rates. The role requires knowledge of SEO best practices, technical SEO, and content optimization strategies across multiple regions and languages.

The Senior SEO Manager will collaborate closely with the Performance Marketing, Product Marketing, Content, and Web teams to implement an effective SEO strategy that aligns with Tenable’s business objectives.

Your Opportunity:

  • SEO Strategy & Execution:

    • Work with the Senior Director to develop the overarching SEO strategy that is aligned with business goals, across products, regions and languages

    • Plan and execute SEO initiatives to enhance search engine rankings, drive traffic, and support business goals.

  • Manage the SEO user experience across the buyer’s journey, creating SEO planning documents and recommendations for content and site architecture enhancements

  • Technical SEO and Content Optimization:

    • Partner with the web team to implement technical SEO improvements, including site structure, performance, and indexing.

    • Guide content teams in optimizing web pages, ensuring alignment with SEO best practices and keyword strategies.

    • Monitor site health, identify technical SEO issues, and recommend solutions to enhance performance.

  • Keyword Research and Performance Monitoring:

    • Conduct keyword research to optimize existing content and identify new opportunities.

    • Monitor rankings, traffic, and key SEO metrics, providing regular insights and recommendations.

    • Collaborate with the paid search team to align organic and paid search strategies for improved efficiency.

  • Analytics and Reporting:

    • Work with Senior Director to provide an executive level dashboard and leverage business intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau) to provide visibility to leaders into performance, search trends to improve SEO strategies

    • Utilize SEO tools (Google Analytics, Google Search Console, etc.) to track performance and identify opportunities.

    • Provide regular reporting on key SEO KPIs and recommend actions based on data insights.

  • Experimentation:

    • Design and conduct SEO experiments using data-driven methods such as A/B testing and statistical analysis to measure and improve performance

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    • Act as the SEO subject matter expert, collaborating with Product Marketing, Regional Marketing and Performance Marketing teams to embed SEO best practices into broader strategies

    • Lead complex cross-functional on-page optimization projects, leveraging advanced data models to drive data-driven content

  • Emerging Trends:

    • Stay informed of industry trends, algorithm updates, and emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge

    • Contribute to organizational knowledge sharing, driving global SEO improvements in collaboration with stakeholders.

  • Team leadership:

    • Manage relationship with SEO agency, clearly communicating business priorities and translating agency recommendations into actionable plans.

    • Partner closely with the Performance Marketing team to align SEO strategies with the buyer’s journey and paid digital efforts.

  • Define and refine SEO strategies that align with business objectives and growth priorities.

  • Prioritize SEO initiatives that will drive the highest impact on organic search visibility and user engagement.

  • Determine key areas for investment, including tools, resources, and partnerships, to optimize SEO performance at scale.

  • Guide cross-functional teams on SEO-driven enhancements to content, website architecture, and technical performance.

  • Assess and implement process improvements for SEO execution, ensuring alignment with broader marketing and product strategies.

What You'll Need:

  • 8+ years of experience in digital marketing, with at least 5+ years of hands-on SEO management experience (B2B and global experience preferred).

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred or equivalent experience.

  • Strong expertise in technical SEO, on-page optimization, and content strategy.

  • Proficiency with SEO tools (Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Conductor, BrightEdge, Screaming Frog, etc.).

  • Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and CMS platforms.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and present actionable insights.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and present SEO findings to stakeholders.

  • Experience managing SEO agency relationships and translating recommendations into action.

  • Ability to work both strategically and hands-on in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

  • Ability to work at a computer for an extended period of time

  • Globally distributed client organization that operates both in-office and remotely

  • Participate in training sessions, presentations, and meetings; sometimes being the presenter of these trainings

  • Infrequent travel required

This is the base pay range for this position. Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, location and experience, and may fall outside of the range shown. Employees are also eligible for variable compensation in addition to base pay (commission for sales roles, bonus for non-sales roles), depending on company and individual performance. $113,000$151,000 USD
