Senior Software Engineer, Data Analytics (Remote)

We are seeking a highly motivated senior software engineer to lead large, strategic, and complex projects, developing scalable systems that enhance our product analytics capabilities and drive strategic initiatives within the Product and Engineering organisation. This position demands a high level of leadership, mentoring other engineers, and helping to design and architect solutions that can scale to meet our growing business needs. In this role, you'll be expected to excel in navigating complex, often ambiguous environments, transforming greenfield challenges into building robust, scalable infrastructure that provides deeper insights and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the success of Product Analytics Architecture in Auditboard. Build and optimize data services to improve compliance, security, reliability, performance, and resource utilization.

  • Identify the data needed for a business problem and implement logging required to ensure the availability of data, while working with the data infrastructure to triage issues and resolve them.

  • Work closely with the Architecture team to design data integration and movement solutions.

  • Collaborate closely with the Enterprise Data Management team to leverage and build centrally managed data for product usage and adoption analysis.

  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software bugs

  • Implement back-end APIs in Node.js

  • Collaborate with engineers, translate and inform application architecture and product analytics decisions to data scientists, designers, and product managers

  • Able to negotiate with stakeholders & dependent teams on prioritizing commitments

  • Ability to write clear and well-defined design documentation

  • Mentor fellow engineers

Attributes of a Successful Candidate

  • 8+ years of experience developing web-based applications

  • 5+ years of experience with data mining, querying, and managing investigative projects

  • 3+ years of experience with data compliance and governance.

  • Experience with a modern front-end framework (Ember, Angular, React, Vue, etc.)

  • Experience writing REST / JSON APIs

  • High level of proficiency in SQL and Python

  • Experience with SQL & NoSQL DBs, modern database technologies, Caches, Message Queues, including schema design, indexing, query optimization, and performance tuning

  • Good understanding of web services and Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) standards like REST, OAuth, and JSON.

  • Ability to solve technical problems independently

  • Experience in Agile/Scrum methodology for software development.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Node.js and modern ES6 or TypeScript

  • Experience with Ember.js

  • Subject matter expert (SME) in architecting Snowflake or other relevant technologies.

  • Amplitude Integration experience

  • Docker or Kubernetes experience

  • Hands-on experience with AWS (especially RDS) is preferred

  • BS in Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
