The Role
The Senior Software Engineer, DevOps will be responsible for developing and maintaining the cloud infrastructure, configurations, automations, and monitoring that underpin our systems and services. You will work with cutting-edge technologies and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to create innovative solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure solutions that are scalable, secure, and efficient.
Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code (python, shell scripts, terraform, etc.), ensuring the reliability and performance of the system.
Administer and troubleshoot cloud infrastructure, networking, databases, messaging/event systems
Participate in on-call rotations. Rapidly respond to pages and resolve live site issues.
Collaborate with other engineers, product managers, and cross-functional teams to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of features.
Ensure that our systems are highly available, fault-tolerant, and optimized for performance.
Monitor infrastructure performance and costs, set up alerts, and analyze logs to ensure uptime and reliability.
Identify performance bottlenecks and take proactive steps to optimize systems for better scalability and user experience.
Manage and maintain code repositories using GitHub, ensuring proper version control, code reviews, and pull requests.
Continuously improve our tools, automations, and infrastructure for better performance, security, and scalability.
About You
7-10+ years of experience in DevOps, infrastructure, or backend software engineering roles
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.
Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions such as Terraform
Proficiency with one or more programming languages (e.g. Python, Java, Scala, or Javascript) and Unix Shell Scripting (Bash, Zsh, etc)
Strong familiarity with GitHub for version control, pull request, and collaboration within a distributed team.
Expertise with monitoring, logging, and performance optimization.
Proficiency with relational database administration (Postgres, MySQL, MariaDB).
Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices deployment.
Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS) and cloud-native development.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation, and DevOps practices.
Proven ability to solve complex engineering problems, with a focus on system design, performance, and scalability.
Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
