About the role:
The Senior Software Engineer in Test is an integral part of the scrum team, participating in all sprint activities and contributing to the overall quality of the finished feature by being involved from the earliest stages of design and development through verification, deployment, and production support.
- Help in building an Engineering culture that enables quality in all software feature development teams across the company.
- Develop and execute plans to continuously increase coverage and decrease test execution time.
- Make frequent contributions to our test automation harness as part of the continuous integration pipeline.
- Design test cases and execute all types of tests (e.g., functional, integration, end-to-end, security, and performance, both manual and automated).
- Build tools to support automated testing, load testing, and performance testing of our products.
- Interact and participate in meetings with key stakeholders, team members, and internal users regarding timelines and technical issues.
- Mentor and guide other Quality Engineering team members, as well as technical and non-technical staff members.
- Functional testing experience, including defining test strategy, test planning, test case design, execution, and reporting.
- Expertise with automated testing tools and strategies.
- Understanding of web application structure and potential "soft spots".
- Recent exposure to a startup environment, building and contributing to a test framework, including automation, from the ground up.
- You will have a solid understanding of various Test Frameworks and Automation of frontend and backend systems.
- Experience with Docker, Docker-Compose
- Experience with Continuous Integration/Delivery concepts and tools such as GitHub Actions.
- Experience with performance engineering and profiling, and tools such as JMeter, K6.
- API testing (RESTful, gRPC)
- A passion for testing, development, and solving challenging technical problems.
- Expert knowledge in JavaScript/TypeScript
- Working experience with one or more test automation tools and frameworks such as Cypress and Playwright.
- Ability to prioritize test activities and testing tasks.
- Experience working with globally distributed teams.
- Demonstrated skills using code repositories and Atlassian tools (GitHub, JIRA, Confluence, or similar tools).
- Knowledge of IaC (Infrastructure as code) tools such as Terraform, Pulumi.
- Knowledge of the Lua Programming Language.
- Experience with containers (Docker) and container orchestration systems (ECS, Kubernetes, Docker Swarm/Data Center, EKS, GKE).
- Experience with working on Cloud Platforms such as AWS, GCP, Azure.
- Experience in testing high-availability enterprise-scale SaaS offerings.
- Experience with AI and integrating AI into everyday testing.
- Experience with K8s.

Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to specific candidate location, role, skill set and level of experience. Certain roles are eligible for additional rewards including sales incentives depending on the terms of the applicable plan and role. Benefits may vary depending on location. The typical base pay range for this role in is CAD $144780-$202825.
