Job Description

Replicated is a Commercial Software Distribution Platform. Replicated helps software vendors distribute their applications into self-hosted environments like VPC, on-prem, air gap, and more. With a suite of tools ranging from installation, to testing, to licensing and support, Replicated is the best way to operationalize and scale the distribution of Kubernetes applications into any enterprise environment.

Our customers include KNIME, Puppet, Smartbear, BigID, Swimlane, and many other fast-growing enterprise software vendors.

Replicated is committed to cultivating an efficient, respectful workplace. We know that innovation thrives on teams where diverse points of view come together to solve hard problems in ways that are just now possible. As such, we explicitly seek people that bring diverse life experiences, diverse educational backgrounds, diverse cultures, and diverse work experiences.

We are fully remote and plan to stay that way! We're open to any state in the US. In addition, for some roles, we're open to candidates in Canada, the UK, Australia, and New Zealand.

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team! Our Engineers contribute to every stage of building the Replicated delivery and management platform. They implement, test, and deploy new enhancements and updates to our products.

As a member of the development team you will get to use cutting-edge technologies and emerging open source tools and standards. Working with exciting tools like Kubernetes and Helm, you’ll help us continue to build the next generation of multi-premise features for ISVs and Enterprise customers.

Check outour YouTube channel to get an idea of what we are building next!

Our stack includes Go, Kubernetes, Typescript and more. You’ll get an opportunity to work across the stack and develop software for our highly technical user-base of software developers. Our engineers learn something new every day and are encouraged to contribute and work closely with their Product Manager to iterate through ideas and implementations.

What Replicated offers:

  • A learning culture that is anchored with a growth mindset and curiosity

  • Remote work - build a comfortable setting that works for you

  • Enthusiastic teams who love what they do

What you’ll be doing:

  • Work with product managers, designers, engineers, and customers to iterate features from the prototype stage to GA.

  • Work across the lifecycle of our products: design, develop, document, test, integrate, deploy, support, and collaborate.

  • Mentor and be mentored, growing and investing in each other's growth is a key part of our culture.

  • Be curious about everything we deliver and the problems we are solving for our customers.

  • Our product and engineering culture is ‘Inspired’ oriented. We embrace opportunities to share with and learn from our customers, so we better understand how the products are being used and discover opportunities to innovate. Engineers are a key part of this conversation, joining calls to watch the product in use, receive direct customer feedback, and ideate on possible solutions.

  • Collaborate with your teammates to deliver solutions for our customers.

  • Meet regularly with your manager to review the Career Development Framework, identifying areas for growth and planning for projects to demonstrate new skills and techniques.

  • Participate in weekly support and on-call rotations.

  • Contribute and champion a culture of quality and testing. Help guide others who may have less experience in this area.

What you bring to the role:

  • Senior level professional development experience with Go and associated tooling.

  • Excellent technical communication and collaboration skills with the proven ability to:

    • Clearly and concisely communicate about complex technical and product topics.

    • Communicate with leadership and other stakeholders across the company.

    • Engage with customers to better understand the problems they are trying to solve.

  • Experience designing, building, and maintaining API services and their respective datastores.

  • Experience developing and shipping software in a cloud-native, customer-facing infrastructure.

  • Proven ability to create and deliver impactful contributions, both independently and collaborating with others.

  • Experience taking on complex challenges and breaking them down into iterative deliverables.

  • Experience delivering software within the constraints of a modern CI/CD pipeline

  • A high degree of curiosity for innovative software, balanced with an appreciation for sustainable solutions.

In your first 30 Days

  • Learn as much as you can about the company, team and product

  • Complete hands-on training with the product, complete an onboarding checklist and meet with team members from across the company

  • Improve the onboarding process as you notice rough edges, bringing your fresh perspectives to identify areas where we can do better

  • Spend time with the team understanding our work and current initiatives

  • Pair with members of the team to grow your knowledge of our infrastructure and ask questions to understand how we got to where we are

  • You will receive a copy of‘The First 90 Days’ as a resource to help you outline your 90 days plan

In your first 60 days

  • Pair with your engineering buddy and contribute individual work to existing initiatives to deepen your understanding of Replicated’s product

  • Shadow engineers in the on-call and support rotation, learning the process and making suggestions for improvements (both technical and procedural)

  • Examine the systems you are learning, seeking to understand the “why” and challenge the answers as appropriate

  • Continue to grow your understanding of Replicated - how our products are developed, building relationships with individuals, how our services connect and interact

In your first 90 days

  • Take a leadership role for one of the team’s priorities, coordinating within and beyond the development group to accomplish the goal as you see fit

  • Use your expertise to improve the reliability and quality of what we are shipping.

  • Join the on-call and support rotation as a fully fledged member; you are never on your own as we deeply value supporting each other. Safe Remote Job Search Tips

Verify Employer Thoroughly

Research the company's identity thoroughly before applying. Check for a professional website with contacts, active social media, and LinkedIn profiles. Verify details across platforms and look for reviews on Glassdoor or Trustpilot to confirm legitimacy.

Never Pay to Get a Job

Legitimate employers never require payment for applications, training, background checks, or equipment. Always reject upfront payment requests or demands for bank details, even if they claim it's for purchasing necessary work gear on your behalf.

Safeguard Your Personal Information

Protect sensitive data like SSN, bank details, or ID copies. Share this only after accepting a formal, written job offer. Ensure it's submitted via a secure company system or portal, never through insecure channels like standard email attachments.

Scrutinize Communication & Interviews

Watch for communication red flags: poor grammar, generic emails (@gmail), vague details, or undue pressure. Be highly suspicious of interviews held only via text or chat apps; legitimate companies typically use video or phone calls.

Beware of Unrealistic Offers

If an offer's salary or benefits seem unrealistically high for the work involved, be cautious. Research standard pay for similar roles. Offers that appear 'too good to be true' are often scams designed to lure you into providing information or payment.

Insist on a Formal Contract

Always secure and review a formal, written job offer or employment contract before starting work or sharing final personal details. Ensure it clearly defines your role, compensation, key terms, and conditions to avoid misunderstandings or scams.
