This role operates at the intersection of product, marketing, and media, transforming technical innovation into compelling, high-impact stories that engage engineering leaders, developers, and security teams.

As the strategic communications partner to our product leadership, product management, and product marketing teams, you will craft narratives that highlight Harness’ AI-native platform and core products—from Continuous Integration and Delivery to Feature Flags, Cloud Cost Management, and Traceable API Security. About the role

  • Craft impactful announcements, blogs, key messages, and narratives that support product news, innovation, and thought leadership.
  • Own all aspects of product communications, including media engagement, executive thought leadership, speaking opportunities, and industry awards.
  • Translate complex technical details into real-world value, creating messaging that resonates with key audiences.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitive moves, and key influencers to refine and evolve our communications strategy.
  • Lead media outreach and build strong relationships with journalists covering technology, developer tools, and security.
  • Support product positioning and maintain a cohesive messaging framework across Harness’ platform, ensuring consistency and clarity

About you

  • 7+ years of experience in product communications or public relations, ideally in the technology or DevOps industry.
  • Proven ability to build, scale, and execute media and press programs that drive meaningful impact.
  • Strong media relationships and a track record of securing top-tier coverage.
  • A deep understanding of what stories resonate with engineering leaders, developers, and security teams—and how to position them effectively.
  • Exceptional writing skills, with the ability to craft compelling press pitches, press releases, thought leadership pieces, and executive messaging.
  • The ability to distill complex technical concepts into clear, engaging narratives that define markets and articulate business value.
  • A strong point of view on industry trends and the ability to shape conversations that move the industry forward.
  • Strategic decision-making skills—able to balance competing priorities in a fast-moving environment.
  • A high-energy, scrappy approach—comfortable juggling high-profile projects and handling urgent inbound requests with agility.

Safe Remote Job Search Tips

Verify Employer Thoroughly

Research the company's identity thoroughly before applying. Check for a professional website with contacts, active social media, and LinkedIn profiles. Verify details across platforms and look for reviews on Glassdoor or Trustpilot to confirm legitimacy.

Never Pay to Get a Job

Legitimate employers never require payment for applications, training, background checks, or equipment. Always reject upfront payment requests or demands for bank details, even if they claim it's for purchasing necessary work gear on your behalf.

Safeguard Your Personal Information

Protect sensitive data like SSN, bank details, or ID copies. Share this only after accepting a formal, written job offer. Ensure it's submitted via a secure company system or portal, never through insecure channels like standard email attachments.

Scrutinize Communication & Interviews

Watch for communication red flags: poor grammar, generic emails (@gmail), vague details, or undue pressure. Be highly suspicious of interviews held only via text or chat apps; legitimate companies typically use video or phone calls.

Beware of Unrealistic Offers

If an offer's salary or benefits seem unrealistically high for the work involved, be cautious. Research standard pay for similar roles. Offers that appear 'too good to be true' are often scams designed to lure you into providing information or payment.

Insist on a Formal Contract

Always secure and review a formal, written job offer or employment contract before starting work or sharing final personal details. Ensure it clearly defines your role, compensation, key terms, and conditions to avoid misunderstandings or scams.
