Job Description
🚀 Why Join Us
User Interviews is a fully remote team and always has been. We are proactive about staying connected to each other despite not sharing the same physical space. Remote culture is real and we care about it—a lot.
We’re a team of doers. You’ll be fully supported by your manager and team, but there won’t be anyone peering over your shoulder. You’ll be expected and trusted to take ownership of your work, and to communicate clearly and transparently with your distributed teammates.
On a related note, we’re very pro-feedback. From our users, of course. But also from each other. From individual contributors right up to the CEO, this is a team that is genuinely committed to continuous improvement.
🤠About User Interviews
At User Interviews, we believe that the best companies in the world consistently deliver products and experiences that their customers love. We also believe that the only way to consistently build those products and experiences is to talk to your customers. Watch what they do. Understand why they do what they do. Figure out why they do things that seem irrational. And once you’ve done that once, do it again. Start having constant conversations. In short, make customers your #1 priority through user research.
That’s why we exist. We help teams set up those conversations, that research, allowing them to discover and embrace user insights. We specialize in participant recruitment and management because you cannot do good research without good participants, no matter how good your other tools may be. We work with hundreds of companies every month, including user-centric organizations like Atlassian, Amazon, and Spotify.
💡 What You’ll Do
You will join a cross-functional product pod and report directly to the Director of Product Design. Your role will be a critical part of how we understand our users to identify opportunities and figure out which solutions we should pursue to improve their experience. You will be involved in the full life cycle of everything we design and ship. What is a product pod? Each product pod is made up of a Product Designer (you), a Tech Lead, a Product Manager, an embedded Data Analyst, and 4+ engineers. The pod will be responsible for a specific outcome and own everything from the discovery of opportunities through the delivery of solutions. Our baseline for this role is someone who is smart, self-motivated, and an awesome teammate (but specifics are below!).
🌟 Responsibilities
• Help drive discovery work to figure out what opportunity we should prioritize next.
• Work closely with cross-functional partners (Engineering, PM, Ops, Marketing, etc.) to ensure we understand the holistic needs and implications of our work.
• Iteratively define and design high quality solutions that solve user problems and drive business goals.
• Lead evaluative research in collaboration with our Research team to ensure we’re creating intuitive and usable solutions.
• Contribute to our design system by evolving our components to improve consistency, accessibility, and visual design across the app.
• Ensure everything that we ship is being held to a high standard and enables the best experiences for our customers.
🪩 Who will be successful in this role?
• You can drive work forward independently while working collaboratively.
• You hold yourself and your work to a high standard, but share rough ideas early and often.
• You’re passionate about defending your opinions but enjoy having them challenged by the team to help you consider new perspectives.
• You incorporate user feedback into all aspects of your work and use it to drive your thinking but supplement it with your own ideas as well.
• You’re pragmatic – you embrace constraints and view them as a creative catalyst but also know when to push back and challenge them.
• You’re naturally curious and always learning something new, picking up new hobbies, or toying with new ideas.
• You enjoy exploring divergent ideas but know when to shift your focus to the nitty gritty details.
• You’re comfortable in a highly iterative environment where you may have to make quick creative decisions.
• You have experience leading larger department initiatives and owning large projects.

• Experience working with a design system
• You have experience in a SaaS environment and/or working on enterprise solutions.
• Bachelor’s degree in UX Design or related field.
• Candidates must be located in the United States and authorized to work without any Visa sponsorship.

Verify Employer Thoroughly
Research the company's identity thoroughly before applying. Check for a professional website with contacts, active social media, and LinkedIn profiles. Verify details across platforms and look for reviews on Glassdoor or Trustpilot to confirm legitimacy.
Never Pay to Get a Job
Legitimate employers never require payment for applications, training, background checks, or equipment. Always reject upfront payment requests or demands for bank details, even if they claim it's for purchasing necessary work gear on your behalf.
Safeguard Your Personal Information
Protect sensitive data like SSN, bank details, or ID copies. Share this only after accepting a formal, written job offer. Ensure it's submitted via a secure company system or portal, never through insecure channels like standard email attachments.
Scrutinize Communication & Interviews
Watch for communication red flags: poor grammar, generic emails (@gmail), vague details, or undue pressure. Be highly suspicious of interviews held only via text or chat apps; legitimate companies typically use video or phone calls.
Beware of Unrealistic Offers
If an offer's salary or benefits seem unrealistically high for the work involved, be cautious. Research standard pay for similar roles. Offers that appear 'too good to be true' are often scams designed to lure you into providing information or payment.
Insist on a Formal Contract
Always secure and review a formal, written job offer or employment contract before starting work or sharing final personal details. Ensure it clearly defines your role, compensation, key terms, and conditions to avoid misunderstandings or scams.
