About the Role
We are currently seeking a Senior Product Designer who will lead the core UX experience of Caper Cart’s interface. Caper Cart, Instacart’s AI-powered smart cart, aims to transform the in-store grocery shopping experience by helping customers save time and money while helping retailers grow their business. You will be working on a dynamic surface that involves collaboration with various teams to implement a seamless experience throughout the shopping and checkout process. Your mission will be to streamline and simplify what it takes for a customer to purchase and save on groceries in person.
About the Team
Caper Cart’s Core Experience team is responsible for the main interface that customers use while shopping in grocery stores. This includes the pre-shopping, shopping, and post shopping experience such as onboarding, adding and removing items, payments and checkout. This team is a key pillar within Caper Cart and collaborates closely with other pillars working on value and monetization, customer delight, and retailer customizations.
About the Job
We’re seeking a creative problem solver to define the next generation of in-store shopping experiences by pushing the boundaries of design. You’ll use your full range of skills including strategic design, ideation, interaction design, and visual design to shape and ship amazing experiences. You’ll partner closely with Product, Engineering, Industrial Design, and Motion Design to identify new opportunities and bring them to life.
About You
Minimum Qualifications
- Proven track record of working on consumer interfaces that sit at the intersection of software and hardware. Minimum 8+ years experience working on consumer products.
- Proven track record of transforming experiences by fluidly moving between innovative visioning and near-term execution.
- Portfolio case studies that show generative ideation through to final solution with impact to customers and the business.
- A craft leader with strong visual design and attention to design; must be obsessed with the customer.
- Able to work across disciplines, including collaborations with industrial designers, motion designers, product managers, and engineers.
- Able to work in a fast-paced, start-up environment with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
