Sr Staff Software Engineer, Advertiser Experience Infrastructure
Pinterest is one of the fastest growing online advertising platforms and our continued success depends on rapidly scaling our core revenue-generating systems. Specifically, we need 10x the scale of our campaign management, ad delivery and machine learning platforms, while enabling developers inside Pinterest and external advertisers to build and iterate rapidly on new features.
At the Advertiser Experience Infrastructure team, our mission is to build performant infrastructures that enable seamless advertiser experience and rapid advertiser product innovations. We are looking for a Sr Staff Software Engineer to lead and build the next-gen of advertiser infrastructures, such as campaign management, authorization, API platform, ads reporting & analytics. In this role, you will work closely with other infrastructure teams and product partners to meet our platform’s strong scaling needs and enable fast product iterations, making direct impact to the revenue and business growth.
What you’ll do:
- Re-architect ads reporting and data infrastructure to achieve greater scalability, flexibility, performance and reliability, unlocking a wider range of real-time ads data and measurement use cases both internally and externally.
- Build more scalable campaign management and authorization infrastructures, ensuring all types of businesses can manage their ads and assets effectively and securely.
- Modernize API platform and developer tooling with technologies like GraphQL, to make our API platform the easiest to use for both internal and external developers.
- Collaborate closely with product and infrastructure teams to define problems and drive solutions.
- Work with a strong team of engineers and provide technical guidance and mentorship.
What we’re looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of relevant industry experience with ads or data infrastructure and distributed systems.
- Experience in building large scale high performance infrastructure powering ads or other consumer facing applications.
- Experience in building real-time data processing applications or data infrastructure (with technologies like Flink, Spark, Kafka, Iceberg).
- Experience solving end-user problems and envisioning solutions to improve their productivity.
- Experience in working cross functionally to drive alignment, oversee execution and secure deliverables.
- Experience in mentoring, guiding and upleveling junior engineers.
- Proficiency in Java, Python.
In-Office Requirement Statement:
- We let the type of work you do guide the collaboration style. That means we're not always working in an office, but we continue to gather for key moments of collaboration and connection.
- This role will need to be in the office for in-person collaboration 1-2 times/month and therefore can be situated anywhere in the country.
