This is a full-time W2 position hybrid in Bozeman, Montana.

Job Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to join our growing finance team in the Fintech industry. The ideal candidate will play a key role in the daily accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across financial tasks. This role offers an excellent opportunity for growth and development within a dynamic and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain financial records: Record journal entries, reconcile accounts, and assist with month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing procedures.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Process vendor invoices, ensure timely payments, prepare customer invoices, and track receivables.
  • General Ledger Accounting: Assist with general ledger maintenance, perform account reconciliations, and prepare adjusting journal entries.
  • Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and analysis for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Tax Compliance: Support with tax filings, audits, and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance with state and federal laws.
  • Budget and Forecasting Support: Assist with the preparation of budgets and forecasts to support business planning and strategy.
  • Audit Support: Provide necessary documentation and schedules during internal and external audits.
  • Other Duties: Assist in special projects and ad-hoc financial analysis as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • Experience: 1-3 years of corporate accounting experience preferred. FinTech or related field preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP).
    • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP) and Excel. Sage Intacct a plus.
    • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, start-up environment.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
