Required Qualifications
Data Pipeline Development (7+ Years)
Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines using tools like AWS Glue, DBT, Dagster, or similar orchestration frameworks.
Strong proficiency in Python and SQL for data processing and transformation.
Cloud Infrastructure & Data Warehousing (5+ Years)
Proficiency in AWS services such as Redshift, S3, Glue, and IAM.
Experience designing and optimizing data warehouses (Redshift, Snowflake) and managing S3 data lakes.
Data Quality & Governance (3+ Years)
Implementing data validation, quality checks, and error-handling mechanisms.
Familiarity with data governance practices, including metadata management and documentation.
Performance Optimization (3+ Years)
Optimizing data pipelines, queries, and managing large datasets for efficiency and scalability.
Knowledge of best practices for high-throughput systems.
Security & Compliance (3+ Years)
Experience with data security measures (encryption, role-based access control, data masking).
Understanding of compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA, SOC 2) and their application in data engineering.
Collaboration & Communication (5+ Years)
Strong ability to work cross-functionally with data analysts, data scientists, and stakeholders.
Effective communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in a high-growth startup environment, demonstrating the ability to adapt to rapid changes, evolving priorities, and scaling challenges.
Experience with real-time data processing technologies such as Apache Kafka or Kinesis.
Familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation for managing cloud resources.
Experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for data workflows.
Experience optimizing costs in cloud environments, particularly with data storage and compute resources.
Strong background in event-driven architecture and stream processing.
