About the Role
As a Staff Machine Learning Engineer, you will lead the design, development, and deployment of complex machine learning solutions that drive critical business outcomes. You will be a key technical leader, collaborating with cross-functional partners (Data Science, Product, Engineering, Analytics) to create scalable systems and deliver high-impact projects. You will also mentor and guide other engineers, contributing to a culture of technical excellence and innovation.
What you’ll do:
- Design and develop advanced algorithms to address complex business challenges. Research and implement cutting-edge machine learning models and techniques. Prototype new models and evaluate their performance through simulation.
- Optimize machine learning models to achieve faster speed and greater efficiency. Implement feature selection and engineering techniques to boost model performance.
- Evaluate machine learning models to ensure they deliver accurate and relevant results. Set clear success benchmarks and diligently monitor performance against these criteria.
- Provide technical guidance and mentor junior machine learning engineers. Lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex data challenges effectively.
About you:
- 8+ years of professional experience in machine learning, software engineering, or a similar domain
- 5+ years with machine learning algorithms, model development, and model deployment
- 3+ years in advanced algorithm design and analysis
- Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership, mentor team members, and drive consensus among diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Python, R, or Scala languages for data science
- Experience with TensorFlow, Keras, or PyTorch for neural network modeling
- Familiarity with model evaluation metrics and validation strategies
- Ability to optimize machine learning models for performance
- Proven track record of deploying machine learning models into production
- Documented experience improving model scalability and efficiency
- History of developing innovative solutions using machine learning
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex ideas clearly and concisely.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional environment.

- The annual salary for this role $225-$250k + equity + benefits (including medical, dental, and vision)
