Team Overview:

The Subreddit Success team’s mission is to make Reddit the best place to start and grow any community on the internet. We look carefully at the entire lifecycle all the way from community creation to community growth to becoming a thriving destination. We work closely with the community support, country leads, moderation and governance teams to implement solutions for moderators and users that will increase each community’s probability of success.

Role Description:

As a Staff Product Manager on the Community Success team, you will be responsible for building scalable systems that support Reddit’s new and growing communities. This will require revamping the experience for the Redditors who start communities, from community creation, to moderator recruitment and education to community discovery and distribution. Your goal is to assist moderators to get a community off the ground and help it grow to its full potential.

You will need to build systems and features that unlock the potential of nascent communities. These features will be used by moderators and core Reddit users and are critical to the success of a community and Reddit’s ecosystem. Therefore, you need to have an intimate understanding of Reddit and how its communities work.

You will be entrusted to handle complex product launches end-to-end, lead a team of engineers and designers and coordinate with cross functional teams from community, governance, i18n and growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the strategy and roadmap for Subreddit Success on Reddit, and earn buy-in from executive leadership as well as the team.
  • Be a strong voice that advocates for Moderator’s success and have a point of view on how to make them successful.
  • Collaborate with engineering and design teams to launch features, that accelerate the number of thriving communities on Reddit
  • Understand Reddit and what makes communities and moderation successful. Form clear product insights on what needs to happen to increase the probability of success for communities. They lead your team to implement those insights to tangible product systems and features.
  • Partner with various cross-functional teams (Community, i18n, Growth, Governance, Moderation, Communications, Policy, etc.) to get alignment and successfully launch high quality experiences that are well received from Reddit’s user base.
  • Dive into the data, conduct detailed analysis and guide the team’s roadmap via data driven decision making.

Required Experience:

  • At least 6+ years of consumer product management experience
  • Has worked in product teams and has launched consumer facing products for consumer tech companies
  • High Data fluency, knows SQL, and at a tactical (e.g. A/B testing) and strategic (e.g. feature estimations, sizing) level can be relied to inform crisp decisions
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience

Preferred Experience::

  • Has worked on community building related projects in the past
  • Working on operational review systems at scale

Pay Transparency:

This job posting may span more than one career level.

In addition to base salary, this job is eligible to receive equity in the form of restricted stock units, and depending on the position offered, it may also be eligible to receive a commission. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including, skills, depth of work experience and relevant licenses/credentials, and may vary from the amounts listed below.

The base pay range for this position is:
$217,000$303,900 USD
