What we’re building and why we’re building it.

Every month, millions of people use America’s Rewards App, earning rewards for buying brands they love – and a whole lot more. Whether shopping in the grocery aisle, grabbing a bite at the drive-through or playing a favorite mobile game, Fetch empowers consumers to live rewarded throughout their day. To date, we’ve delivered more than $1 billion in rewards and earned more than 5 million five-star reviews from happy users.

It’s not just our users who believe in Fetch: with investments from SoftBank, Univision, and Hamilton Lane, and partnerships ranging from challenger brands to Fortune 500 companies, Fetch is reshaping how brands and consumers connect in the marketplace. When you work at Fetch, you play a vital role in a platform that drives brand loyalty and creates lifelong consumers with the power of Fetch points. User and partner success are at the heart of everything we do, and we extend that same commitment to our employees.

At Fetch, we value curiosity, adaptability, and the confidence to explore new tools — especially AI — to drive smarter, faster work. You don’t need to be an expert, but you should be ready to learn quickly and think critically. We welcome learners who move fast, challenge the status quo, and shape what’s next — with us. Ranked as one of America’s Best Startup Employers by Forbes for two years in a row, Fetch fosters a people-first culture rooted in trust, accountability, and innovation. We encourage our employees to challenge ideas, think bigger, and always bring the fun to Fetch.

Fetch is an equal employment opportunity employer.

Meet Fetch Engineering:

At Fetch, we are passionate about solving challenging problems and embracing ambiguity. Our engineering philosophy promotes adaptability and innovation over rigid adherence to rules. Our engineers thrive in complex environments, making well-informed decisions even in uncertain situations. We seek out the necessary information and focus on action and impact, while consistently upholding high technical standards. In this role, you will be a technical leader, shaping best practices to build world-class, user-facing technology. You will mentor fellow engineers, fostering technical growth and collaboration within the team. As a hands-on leader, you will actively contribute to the codebase and deliver features alongside your team.

About the Role:

At Fetch, we’re redefining how software quality works in the age of AI. We believe anyone — from engineers to product managers to support specialists — should be able to safely and confidently contribute to our production systems. That’s why we’re investing in a new kind of quality engineering leadership: one that doesn’t gatekeep, but instead empowers.
This Staff SDET role is both strategic and hands-on — you’ll define the long-term vision for quality engineering while rolling up your sleeves to build tools, frameworks, and processes that improve velocity and confidence across the org.

What you’ll do at Fetch:

  • Drive the strategy and adoption of AI-assisted testing tools to accelerate confidence and coverage — think Cursor, GitHub Copilot, TestGPT, and beyond.
  • Architect quality systems and reusable patterns that enable anyone at Fetch (including non-engineers) to make safe, test-covered code changes.
  • Design, maintain, and scale robust testing frameworks and automated quality checks that serve as reliable guardrails across CI/CD pipelines.
  • Partner with developers on unit and integration test patterns, while owning strategy for E2E, regression, and production validations.
  • Influence Fetch’s quality culture across teams and leadership by establishing best practices, leading cross-functional initiatives, and mentoring engineers.
  • Define and track metrics that reflect real-world quality (not just test coverage) and continuously improve based on outcomes.
  • Serve as a thought leader in Quality Engineering, identifying gaps, advocating for investment, and driving innovation through tools, process, and AI.
  • Shift Quality Left (and Right): Collaborate with engineering, product, and design to embed quality into every stage of development and release.
  • Lead by example in a hands-on, domain-focused individual contributor role — this is not an architect or people manager position, but one where deep technical impact and ownership are expected.

In your Toolbox:

  • Proven QA Engineer / SDET background, with deep experience in designing and scaling automated test frameworks.
  • Track record of leading quality strategy and tooling adoption across multiple teams or business units.
  • Hands-on experience with AI tooling for development and testing. You’re excited by how LLMs are changing the game.
  • Builder mindset — you’re not just testing things, you’re engineering systems that enable others to test things too.
  • Comfortable navigating modern CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native environments (Kubernetes, Docker, GitHub Actions, etc).
  • Excellent collaborator who thrives in cross-functional teams and can teach/mentor others.
  • Strong technical communication and leadership skills, with the ability to drive alignment across engineering, product, and leadership stakeholders.

Nice-to-have / Bonus Points:

  • Experience with testing infrastructure at scale, mutation testing, chaos engineering, or developer productivity tooling.
  • Exposure to mutation testing, chaos engineering, or building internal tooling to scale developer/tester productivity.
  • Experience driving major org-wide initiatives around test automation, platform health, or release reliability.

Why You’ll Love Working Here:

  • You’ll own a critical layer of our engineering platform and shape how Fetch builds quality at scale.
  • You’ll be empowered to experiment and implement new ideas around software quality and productivity.
  • You’ll help shape the future of testing as something inclusive, intelligent, and scalable.
  • You’ll join a company that values curiosity, community, and continuous improvement.

At Fetch, we'll give you the tools to feel healthy, happy and secure through:

  • Equity: We offer employees equity in Fetch, so that everyone can benefit from Fetch’s growth.
  • 401k Match: Dollar-for-dollar match up to 4%.
  • Benefits for humans and pets: We offer comprehensive medical, dental and vision plans for everyone including your pets.
  • Continuing Education: Fetch provides ten thousand per year in education reimbursement.
  • Employee Resource Groups: Take part in employee-led groups that are centered around fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace through events, dialogue and advocacy. The ERGs participate in our Inclusion Council with members of executive leadership.
  • Paid Time Off: On top of our flexible PTO, Fetch observes 9 paid holidays, including Juneteenth and Indigenous People’s Day, as well as our year-end week-long break.
  • Robust Leave Policies: 20 weeks of paid parental leave for primary caregivers, 14 weeks for secondary caregivers, and a flexible return to work schedule.
  • Calvin Care Cash: Employees who are welcoming new family members will also receive a one time $2,000 incentive to assist employees with covering the cost of childcare, clothing, diapers and much more!
  • Flexible Work Environment: Collaborate with your team in one of our stunning offices in Madison, Birmingham, or Chicago. Or you can work fully remotely from anywhere in the US. We’ll ensure you are equally equipped with the hardware and software you need to get your job done in the comfort of your home.

Safe Remote Job Search Tips

Verify Employer Thoroughly

Research the company's identity thoroughly before applying. Check for a professional website with contacts, active social media, and LinkedIn profiles. Verify details across platforms and look for reviews on Glassdoor or Trustpilot to confirm legitimacy.

Never Pay to Get a Job

Legitimate employers never require payment for applications, training, background checks, or equipment. Always reject upfront payment requests or demands for bank details, even if they claim it's for purchasing necessary work gear on your behalf.

Safeguard Your Personal Information

Protect sensitive data like SSN, bank details, or ID copies. Share this only after accepting a formal, written job offer. Ensure it's submitted via a secure company system or portal, never through insecure channels like standard email attachments.

Scrutinize Communication & Interviews

Watch for communication red flags: poor grammar, generic emails (@gmail), vague details, or undue pressure. Be highly suspicious of interviews held only via text or chat apps; legitimate companies typically use video or phone calls.

Beware of Unrealistic Offers

If an offer's salary or benefits seem unrealistically high for the work involved, be cautious. Research standard pay for similar roles. Offers that appear 'too good to be true' are often scams designed to lure you into providing information or payment.

Insist on a Formal Contract

Always secure and review a formal, written job offer or employment contract before starting work or sharing final personal details. Ensure it clearly defines your role, compensation, key terms, and conditions to avoid misunderstandings or scams.
