Job Summary
This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining microservices and APIs to support the Konnect Dev Portal, which enables customers to discover and integrate with APIs. About the role:
On the Developer Portal team at Kong, you will design, develop, and maintain microservices and APIs that power the Konnect Dev Portal. The Konnect Dev Portal is the primary way our customers’ users discover, experiment, and integrate with their APIs hosted on the Konnect platform. Working closely with Engineering and Product teams, you will develop API-focused software components that will materially impact the business of both Kong and Kong’s customers.
- As the founding member of this team's expansion into Italy, you will provide technical mentorship to future team members. You will assist in hiring the remaining team members.
- Lead features and initiatives that cross team boundaries, collaborating with your counterparts in other regions and other teams to deliver best-in-class solutions.
- Design, implement, and maintain microservices and APIs that power the Konnect Dev Portal. Examples include Developer Portal configuration, API catalogs, Markdown and OAS documentation solutions, API authentication configuration, metering, and subscription services.
- Support your team's services in production by participating in an on-call rotation.
- Write automated tests to ensure the behavior of the code and avoid regressions.
- And any additional tasks required by your manager.
- 8+ years working in and leading teams to develop, deliver, and maintain complex software solutions.
- Experience with Typescript, Javascript, and modern NodeJS frameworks like NestJS.
- Experience with relational databases like PostgreSQL.
- Experience developing and supporting SaaS platforms.
- Understanding of and development with git and GitHub workflows.
- Experience in test-driven development and automated testing.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with Golang, Kubernetes, Docker, Kafka, CDC, and Flink.
- Fullstack capable
- A passion for APIs, OAS, and Documentation.
