Job Description
Join Our Journey at Engine
At Engine, we’re revolutionizing work travel. Our modern travel platform isn’t just about booking trips; it’s about transforming how businesses and their teams experience travel. From seamless booking options with top airlines, hotels, and car rental providers to single-invoice billing and flexible trip modifications, we make travel not only easier to manage but also enjoyable. Backed by powerhouse investors like Telescope Partners, Blackstone, Elefund, and Permira, we’re growing fast—and we want you to be part of it.
About Engine
Engine is on a mission to transform how travel is booked and experienced. As we scale rapidly, we're seeking a strategic finance leader to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our growth engine. This is not a traditional FP&A Lead role — it's an opportunity to sit at the intersection of Finance, Strategy, and Go-to-Market (GTM), helping us unlock deeper insights and drive smarter, faster decisions.
About the Role
You will act as a strategic thought partner and leader to GTM leadership, owning key forecasting models, executive-level reporting, and high-impact analyses. You’ll be instrumental in shaping how Engine acquires, grows, and retains customers — supporting everything from performance optimization to long-range planning and board-level presentations.
What You’ll Own and Drive
- Strategic Insights & Performance Analysis
Lead financial and operational analysis across Sales, Account Management, Partnerships, and Marketing to identify growth levers and improve pipeline health, CAC, LTV, sales velocity, and retention. - Executive & Board-Level Reporting
Design and lead frameworks that provide meaningful, decision-driving insights for senior leadership and board meetings. - Modeling & Forecasting Infrastructure
Own and evolve high-impact financial models (e.g., bookings forecast, partnerships ROI, CAC payback) that inform quarterly targets, hiring plans, and investment decisions. - KPI Definition & Business Case Leadership
Partner cross-functionally with RevOps, Marketing, and Product to define KPIs, evaluate strategic initiatives, and measure performance across key growth experiments. - GTM Strategy & Investment Planning
Drive forward-looking GTM strategy, including funnel conversion analysis, customer segmentation, territory design, and resource allocation models.
What You'll Bring
- Proven Experience: 5+ years in strategic finance, FP&A, investment banking, private equity, or consulting, with significant exposure to GTM or SaaS operating models.
- Business Acumen: Deep understanding of GTM economics — CAC, LTV, churn, funnel metrics, sales efficiency — and how to apply them to strategic planning and growth.
- Analytical Excellence: Advanced modeling skills in Excel (or Google Sheets), and fluency in tools like Salesforce, Looker, Tableau, or similar. Experience with planning systems like Adaptive, Anaplan, or Mosaic is a plus.
- Executive Presence: Ability to synthesize complex data into clear narratives for C-suite and board audiences; comfortable influencing senior stakeholders with data-backed recommendations.
- Mindset: Strategic, proactive, and resourceful. You take ownership, dive into ambiguity, and thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Mentorship & Team Leadership Mentor junior finance team members, fostering skill development and analytical rigor. As the team scales, take on direct management responsibilities, helping to build a high-performing Finance & Strategy function.
Applications for this role will be accepted through 10/30/2025 or until the role is filled. We encourage you to apply early, as we may begin reviewing applications before the deadline.
Compensation
Our compensation packages are based on several factors, including your experience and expertise. In addition to a competitive base salary, total compensation may include equity and/or variable pay (OTE). Your recruiter will share your complete compensation package as you move through the process.

Verify Employer Thoroughly
Research the company's identity thoroughly before applying. Check for a professional website with contacts, active social media, and LinkedIn profiles. Verify details across platforms and look for reviews on Glassdoor or Trustpilot to confirm legitimacy.
Never Pay to Get a Job
Legitimate employers never require payment for applications, training, background checks, or equipment. Always reject upfront payment requests or demands for bank details, even if they claim it's for purchasing necessary work gear on your behalf.
Safeguard Your Personal Information
Protect sensitive data like SSN, bank details, or ID copies. Share this only after accepting a formal, written job offer. Ensure it's submitted via a secure company system or portal, never through insecure channels like standard email attachments.
Scrutinize Communication & Interviews
Watch for communication red flags: poor grammar, generic emails (@gmail), vague details, or undue pressure. Be highly suspicious of interviews held only via text or chat apps; legitimate companies typically use video or phone calls.
Beware of Unrealistic Offers
If an offer's salary or benefits seem unrealistically high for the work involved, be cautious. Research standard pay for similar roles. Offers that appear 'too good to be true' are often scams designed to lure you into providing information or payment.
Insist on a Formal Contract
Always secure and review a formal, written job offer or employment contract before starting work or sharing final personal details. Ensure it clearly defines your role, compensation, key terms, and conditions to avoid misunderstandings or scams.
