Job Description
ClassDojo's goal is to give every child on Earth an education they love.
We started by building a powerful network for communication. ClassDojo’s flagship app is the #1 communication app connecting K-12 teachers, children, and families globally. Teachers use it to share what’s happening throughout the day through photos, videos, and messages that make parents feel like they’re there. It’s actively used in over 95% of US schools, reaching over 45 million children in 180 countries, with a team of just around 200 people [1]. We are now beginning to use this network to give kids the best learning experiences in the world, far beyond those a standard school can provide.
One of those experiences is Dojo Tutor, which connects kids with caring, experienced teachers for 1:1 tutoring sessions that boost their skills and confidence. We’re already operating at a large scale and regularly hear from families and tutors about how Dojo Tutor is changing kids’ and tutors’ lives for the better. But we’re just getting started—and we have ambitious goals for growing Dojo Tutor’s reach and impact this year and beyond.
We hire for talent density. Our team comprises the most talented, entrepreneurial, and innovative teammates from around the world, with experience in education and large scale consumer internet companies, including Instagram, Netflix, Dropbox, Stripe, Uber, Y Combinator, and more. We’re building a company where the most talented people want to work. We believe you’ll do the best work of your life here—and you’ll pioneer the future of education, too.
What you’ll do:
We’re seeking a highly analytical and creative operator to own and optimize core programs and processes for our Tutor business end-to-end. This role will be accountable for defining and hitting clear, business-critical targets across a range of high-impact workstreams.
We consider the work you’ll do to improve our programs and processes to be a critical lever for efficiency gains, quality improvement, and business growth. Your job is not only to save costs and make our processes more efficient but also to find ways to strengthen our offering and increase top-of-funnel growth and retention on both sides of our marketplace through your strategic process improvements.
Example focus areas include:
- Tutor Acquisition: Sourcing qualified tutors, optimizing acquisition funnels, and driving yield, speed, and quality improvements
- Session Experience: Defining and raising bars for session quality and safety, ensuring all tutoring sessions are reviewed promptly and consistently exceed expectations.
You’ll collaborate cross-functionally with operators, data scientists, product managers, marketers, designers, and engineers to identify bottlenecks, craft experiments, and iterate toward business outcomes. This is a senior role with significant ownership and growth potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and continuously improve strategy and operations for the Tutor business, with accountability for key performance metrics
Lead projects from identification through execution, including setting strategy, running tests, and iterating based on results - Partner cross-functionally to align operational improvements with broader business goals
- Mentor other strategists and operators by offering feedback and leading cross-functional programs
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience owning and optimizing complex programs or processes in a fast-paced, tech-enabled business
- Track record of delivering measurable business results, especially in ambiguous or rapidly evolving environments
- Strong analytical skills, including knowledge of SQL and ability to run queries
- Bias for action and iterative improvement
- Creativity, scrappiness, and the ability to get both deep into the weeds and to have a high-level view of the overall business so you can focus on the opportunities that will drive the most impact
- Experience using AI to optimize processes and a strong learner mindset; you’re eager to learn new tools and stay on the cutting edge
- (Nice to have) Experience gathering user insights and/or driving storytelling, messaging, or positioning

Safe Remote Job Search Tips
Verify Employer Thoroughly
Research the company's identity thoroughly before applying. Check for a professional website with contacts, active social media, and LinkedIn profiles. Verify details across platforms and look for reviews on Glassdoor or Trustpilot to confirm legitimacy.
Never Pay to Get a Job
Legitimate employers never require payment for applications, training, background checks, or equipment. Always reject upfront payment requests or demands for bank details, even if they claim it's for purchasing necessary work gear on your behalf.
Safeguard Your Personal Information
Protect sensitive data like SSN, bank details, or ID copies. Share this only after accepting a formal, written job offer. Ensure it's submitted via a secure company system or portal, never through insecure channels like standard email attachments.
Scrutinize Communication & Interviews
Watch for communication red flags: poor grammar, generic emails (@gmail), vague details, or undue pressure. Be highly suspicious of interviews held only via text or chat apps; legitimate companies typically use video or phone calls.
Beware of Unrealistic Offers
If an offer's salary or benefits seem unrealistically high for the work involved, be cautious. Research standard pay for similar roles. Offers that appear 'too good to be true' are often scams designed to lure you into providing information or payment.
Insist on a Formal Contract
Always secure and review a formal, written job offer or employment contract before starting work or sharing final personal details. Ensure it clearly defines your role, compensation, key terms, and conditions to avoid misunderstandings or scams.
