About the Role

As a Talent Sourcer, you'll be a key part of our Talent Team, focusing on proactively identifying, engaging, and building relationships with top talent across a variety of functions. Your role will be crucial in developing strong talent pipelines and ensuring we attract and connect with exceptional candidates before hiring needs arise.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Proactively sourcing and engaging high-caliber candidates through direct outreach, talent mapping, and networking across multiple disciplines. We hire 99% of our roles directly.
  • Partnering closely with recruiters and hiring managers to deeply understand hiring needs, talent market trends, and candidate expectations.
  • Building and maintaining strong talent pipelines for both immediate hiring needs and future opportunities, ensuring we have access to top-tier candidates ahead of demand.
  • Leveraging data-driven sourcing strategies, using tools like LinkedIn Recruiter, Greenhouse, and AI-powered sourcing platforms to enhance efficiency and impact.
  • Championing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) by actively sourcing and engaging talent from underrepresented backgrounds, ensuring inclusivity at every stage of the hiring process.
  • Experimenting with creative sourcing techniques, including Boolean searches, x-ray searching, talent communities, and alternative platforms (GitHub, Kaggle, Slack, Discord).
  • Staying ahead of recruitment trends, market insights, and emerging talent acquisition technologies to continuously refine sourcing strategies.

About the Role

To excel in this role, you’ll need:

  • Proven experience in talent sourcing with a strong ability to engage and attract passive candidates across various functions.
  • Proficiency in advanced sourcing techniques, including Boolean search, X-ray searching, and social media sourcing.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, ideally within tech, product, or other dynamic industries.
  • A data-driven approach, using sourcing metrics and hiring insights to continuously improve effectiveness.
  • A candidate-first mindset, ensuring an outstanding experience for every person we engage with.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling outreach messages and build relationships with passive talent.
  • A proactive and solution-oriented mindset, comfortable with ambiguity and eager to experiment with new sourcing strategies.

What do you get for all your hard work?

  • A competitive compensation package (base + equity) with bi-annual reviews, aligned to our quarterly OKR planning cycles. You can view our public progression framework and salary bandings here: https://cleo-ai.progressionapp.com/
  • Work at one of the fastest-growing tech startups, backed by top VC firms, Balderton & EQT Ventures
  • A clear progression plan. We want you to keep growing. That means trying new things, leading others, challenging the status quo and owning your impact. Always with our complete support.
  • Flexibility. We can’t fight for the world’s financial health if we’re not healthy ourselves. We work with everyone to make sure they have the balance they need to do their best work
  • Work where you work best. We’re a globally distributed team. Our Poland team works fully remotely, but we host virtual socials and an annual company offsite somewhere in Europe with all expenses paid.
  • Other benefits;
    • Company-wide performance reviews every 6 months
    • Generous pay increases for high-performing team members
    • Equity top-ups for team members getting promoted
    • 1 month paid sabbatical after 4 years at Cleo
    • Regular socials and activities, online and in-person
    • We'll pay for your OpenAI subscription
    • Online mental health support via Spill
    • We’re in the process of setting up a legal entity in Poland that will come with a full suite of benefits, akin to what we offer in the UK - for now, we’ll be employing you through our EOR provider, Deel, and can discuss our current benefit offering directly.

We strongly encourage applications from people of colour, the LGBTQ+ community, people with disabilities, neurodivergent people, parents, carers, and people from lower socio-economic backgrounds.

If there’s anything we can do to accommodate your specific situation, please let us know.

Poland App access: The Cleo app is not downloadable in Poland right now. Why? 99% of our users are based in the US – where financial health is often overlooked. We’ve decided to shift our focus to where we can provide the most value and make the greatest impact for users who need it most. We can share a slide deck detailing the apps capabilities in more detail though, to help you through the interview process.

Safe Remote Job Search Tips

Verify Employer Thoroughly

Research the company's identity thoroughly before applying. Check for a professional website with contacts, active social media, and LinkedIn profiles. Verify details across platforms and look for reviews on Glassdoor or Trustpilot to confirm legitimacy.

Never Pay to Get a Job

Legitimate employers never require payment for applications, training, background checks, or equipment. Always reject upfront payment requests or demands for bank details, even if they claim it's for purchasing necessary work gear on your behalf.

Safeguard Your Personal Information

Protect sensitive data like SSN, bank details, or ID copies. Share this only after accepting a formal, written job offer. Ensure it's submitted via a secure company system or portal, never through insecure channels like standard email attachments.

Scrutinize Communication & Interviews

Watch for communication red flags: poor grammar, generic emails (@gmail), vague details, or undue pressure. Be highly suspicious of interviews held only via text or chat apps; legitimate companies typically use video or phone calls.

Beware of Unrealistic Offers

If an offer's salary or benefits seem unrealistically high for the work involved, be cautious. Research standard pay for similar roles. Offers that appear 'too good to be true' are often scams designed to lure you into providing information or payment.

Insist on a Formal Contract

Always secure and review a formal, written job offer or employment contract before starting work or sharing final personal details. Ensure it clearly defines your role, compensation, key terms, and conditions to avoid misunderstandings or scams.
