Job Description

We’re on a mission to democratize AI by building the definitive AI data development platform. The AI landscape has gone through incredible change between 2016, when Snorkel started as a research project in the Stanford AI Lab, to the generative AI breakthroughs of today. But one thing has remained constant: the data you use to build AI is the key to achieving differentiation, high performance, and production-ready systems. We work with some of the world’s largest organizations to empower scientists, engineers, financial experts, product creators, journalists, and more to build custom AI with their data faster than ever before. Excited to help us redefine how AI is built? Apply to be the newest Snorkeler!

Snorkel AI is hiring a Technical Delivery Manager (TDM) to lead data development projects from start to finish. You will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage risks, and keep each initiative on track and on budget. The TDM will own every phase of the project lifecycle, ensuring deliverables meet Snorkel AI’s standards of quality. Our projects sit at the cutting edge of AI, requiring a focus on detail and a readiness to adapt as the field advances.

Responsibilities

  • Make Work Visible: Break tasks down, track progress, and keep stakeholders informed about changes, risks, or blockers.
  • Bridge Concept and Execution: Convert abstract requirements into clear project plans.
  • Manage Data Flows: Oversee data ingestion, transformation, and storage across multiple systems, leveraging SQL, JSON, and query management.
  • Identify and Mitigate Risks: Maintain a risk management plan and apply mitigation strategies as needed.
  • Drum Up Cross-Functional Ownership: Provide spirited encouragement so teams see how their work fuels the project’s overall impact.
  • Collaborate with Client Success: Work with the Client Success team to structure project details for external or client-facing materials.
  • Manage Budget: Oversee project finances by tracking expenses, aligning resources with project goals, and ensuring spending stays within approved limits. Communicate budget clearly to stakeholders and provide timely updates on financial risks or adjustments.
  • Communicate with Data: Present updates and forecasts using data-driven insights for diverse audiences.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 5+ years in technical service delivery or technical project management
  • Proficiency with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker) to create, interpret, and present insights.
  • Experience with SQL, JSON, and query management for pulling, pushing, and consolidating data from multiple sources.
  • Proven ability creating solutions “from scratch” and adapting swiftly to evolving needs
  • Ability to adapt plans in resource-constrained or fast-changing environments
  • Familiarity with system architecture and AI/ML concepts
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing projects involving data labeling, annotation workflows, or LLM training
  • Proficiency with Agile methodologies and project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence)
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, PMI-ACP)
  • Experience at a startup or growth-focused organization
  • MBA or consulting background with a track record of turning broad goals into measurable outcomes

Safe Remote Job Search Tips

Verify Employer Thoroughly

Research the company's identity thoroughly before applying. Check for a professional website with contacts, active social media, and LinkedIn profiles. Verify details across platforms and look for reviews on Glassdoor or Trustpilot to confirm legitimacy.

Never Pay to Get a Job

Legitimate employers never require payment for applications, training, background checks, or equipment. Always reject upfront payment requests or demands for bank details, even if they claim it's for purchasing necessary work gear on your behalf.

Safeguard Your Personal Information

Protect sensitive data like SSN, bank details, or ID copies. Share this only after accepting a formal, written job offer. Ensure it's submitted via a secure company system or portal, never through insecure channels like standard email attachments.

Scrutinize Communication & Interviews

Watch for communication red flags: poor grammar, generic emails (@gmail), vague details, or undue pressure. Be highly suspicious of interviews held only via text or chat apps; legitimate companies typically use video or phone calls.

Beware of Unrealistic Offers

If an offer's salary or benefits seem unrealistically high for the work involved, be cautious. Research standard pay for similar roles. Offers that appear 'too good to be true' are often scams designed to lure you into providing information or payment.

Insist on a Formal Contract

Always secure and review a formal, written job offer or employment contract before starting work or sharing final personal details. Ensure it clearly defines your role, compensation, key terms, and conditions to avoid misunderstandings or scams.
