The role
We are seeking a Technical Leader with strong expertise in VTEX IO, FastStore, and modern frontend technologies to join our growing VTEX Division.
The ideal candidate combines hands-on technical skills in React, JavaScript, and e-commerce architectures with leadership abilities to guide and mentor developers, ensure technical excellence, and support project success.
Role responsibilities
- Lead the technical design and architecture for VTEX projects, ensuring best practices and quality standards.
- Review, guide, and approve technical solutions proposed by developers.
- Conduct code reviews and technical mentoring to help team members grow and deliver better quality.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and stakeholders to align technical direction with business goals.
- Identify technical risks early and propose mitigation strategies.
- Continuously research and advocate for new tools, frameworks, and methodologies to keep the division at the cutting edge.
- Ensure that projects maintain performance, scalability, and security standards.
- Act as a point of escalation for complex technical issues during project delivery.
- Contribute to internal knowledge bases, best practice repositories, and technical onboarding processes.
Minimum qualifications

- 8+ years of experience in frontend development, including significant work in e-commerce projects.
- Strong expertise in VTEX IO development and experience with FastStore (preferred).
- Proficiency in React, JavaScript (Vanilla JS & ES6+), and CSS, with hands-on experience with preprocessors like SASS or LESS.
- Solid understanding of Node.js fundamentals and object-oriented and functional programming principles.
- Experience designing scalable, modular frontend architectures for performance and maintainability.
- Deep understanding of responsive design best practices and mobile-first development.
- Experience integrating with GraphQL and REST APIs.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, build tools (npm, Webpack, Gulp), and Git-based workflows.
- Strong knowledge of technical SEO and accessibility considerations.
- Experience in agile methodologies, particularly Scrum, and ability to drive ceremonies (daily standups, sprint planning, retrospectives).
- Upper-Intermediate English (B2+) proficiency, capable of leading technical discussions and documentation.
Preferred qualifications
- VTEX Certifications (a strong plus).
- Experience with Next.js, Server-Side Rendering (SSR), and Headless CMS architectures.
- Hands-on experience with testing frameworks like Jest, Mocha, or Cypress.
- Knowledge of state management libraries (Redux, MobX, etc.) at a design level.
- Previous experience as a Technical Lead, Team Lead, or Solution Architect in frontend-heavy projects.
- Familiarity with performance monitoring and error tracking tools (e.g., Lighthouse, New Relic, Sentry)
