About the Role:
The TPM team is responsible for process, organization, and communication to improve engineering efficiency as we scale. As an early addition to the software TPM team, you’ll play a large role in shaping our engineering organization and the TPM team. You’ll drive quarterly and sprint planning, execution and delivery.
As a Technical Program manager, you will not only be responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of technical projects, ensuring they meet business requirements, timelines and quality standards but will also collaborate and engage in day to day operations with cross-functional teams including engineering, product management and design to meet defined targets. You will also get a chance to coach EMs, PMs and engineers to drive organization wide culture of continuous improvement.
Planning:
- Closely collaborate with the product team to define quarterly or bi annual planning, roadmap, objectives, scope and deliverables.
- Work with engineering teams on creating detailed project plans, including tasks, timelines, and resource allocation. Identify and manage project dependencies and risks.
Team Coordination:
- Coordinate and align design, product and engineering teams involved in projects to facilitate effective communication, collaboration, and drive decisions.
- Work with team members to move forward in case of any roadblocks or conflicts.
Project Execution:
- Make sure project execution is going according to the plan and track milestones
- Track and Report weekly project status updates to stakeholders
Risk Management :
- Identifying risks and blockers then work to mitigate and unblock through all the tools in your toolkit
Day to day operations:
- Lead, own and improve sprint rituals, such as sprint planning, backlog grooming, retrospectives and demos
- Ensure correct reflection of teams’ assignments and their statuses on tools, boards and dashboards
Continuous Improvement :
- Drive the culture of continuous improvement by identifying any opportunities to improve current processes that can contribute towards teams’ productivity and efficiency.
- Lead and organize quarter and project level retrospectives to extract key learnings
Requirements:
- At least 7+ years of experience in Program Management.
- Prior technical experience or a technical degree is recommended (at least bachelor's degree in engineering)
- Experience with project management software (such as JIRA, Confluence, Coda, etc)
- You pride yourself on your organization and communication.
- Ability to lead and coach without authority.
- Ability to gain meaningful insights from data and create an action plan.
- Capacity to work in a fast paced, continuously changing environment - You’ll jump in wherever you can.
- Strong experience with agile methodologies. CSM or PMP training is a bonus.
