Job Description

Description

About Reserv

Reserv is an insurtech creating and incubating cutting-edge AI and automation technology to bring efficiency and simplicity to claims. Founded by insurtech veterans with deep experience in SaaS and digital claims, Reserv is venture-backed by Bain Capital and Altai Ventures and began operations in May 2022. We are focused on automating highly manual tasks to tackle long-standing problems in claims and set a new standard for TPAs, insurance technology providers, and adjusters alike.

We have ambitious (but attainable!) goals and need adjusters who can work in an evolving environment. If building a leading TPA and the prospect of tackling the long-standing challenges of the claims role sounds exciting, we can’t wait to meet you.

Who you are

  • Highly motivated and growth-oriented. You're excited by the prospect of building a tech-driven claims org.
  • Passionate adjuster who cares about the customer and their experience.
  • Empathetic. You exercise empathy and patience towards everyone you interact with.
  • Sense of urgency - at all times. That does not mean working at all hours.
  • Creative. You can find the right exit ramp (pun intended) for the resolution of the claim that is in the insured's best interest.
  • Conflict-enjoyer. Conflict does not have to be adversarial, but it HAS to be conversational.
  • Curious. You have to want to know the whole story so you can make the right decisions early and action them to a prompt resolution.
  • Anti-status quo. You don't just wish things were done differently, you action on it.
  • Communicative. (we'd love to know what this means to you)
  • And did we mention, you have a sense of humor. Claims are hard enough as it is.

What we need

We need you to do all the things typical to the role:

  • Managing Total Loss Claims: Assess and process motor insurance claims where vehicles are deemed beyond economical repair. This involves evaluating damage, determining repair costs, liaising with motor engineers, and negotiating settlements with third-party insurers
  • Overseeing Recovery Processes: Identify and quantify losses such as vehicle repairs, replacement vehicle expenses, recovery, storage, and loss of earnings. Proactively pursue recoveries from third parties, insurers, or agents to recoup costs incurred by customers.
  • Investigating Liability Disputes: Gather relevant information, including reviewing documentation, conducting interviews, and evaluating policy terms to determine indemnity.
  • Communicating with Stakeholders: Serve as the main point of contact for policyholders, providing advice on the claims process, offering regular updates, and ensuring a seamless customer journey throughout the lifecycle of the claim.
  • Negotiating Settlements: Engage in effective negotiations with third-party insurers and agents to ensure favorable settlements, maximizing recovery prospects and minimizing claim life-cycles.
  • Maintaining Accurate Records: Keep detailed records of all recovery efforts and related documentation, including emails, calls, offers discussed, and payments agreed or received.
  • Ensuring Compliance: Adhere to legal requirements, industry regulations, and customer quality standards set by the company, ensuring fair settlement of valid claims and excellent customer service
  • Attention to detail and the ability to provide quality interactions with stakeholders, clients and customers to the high standards required by our business

In addition we would like you to have:

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise your workload.
  • Ability to work to system driven SLAs and workflows.
  • Strong communication skills - both written and oral.
  • Comfortable working in a fluid role in a fast paced environment

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with motor claims - commercial or personal
  • Ability to deal with delegated authority and client philosophies
  • Holding a minimum of Cert CII or working towards
  • Curious and motivated by problem solving and questioning the status quo
  • Desire to engage in learning opportunities and continuous professional development
  • Willingness to travel for client and claims needs

Benefits

  • Generous health-insurance package
  • Pension plan with employer contributions
  • Competitive holiday / leave policy in addition to bank holidays – we want our employees fresh, healthy, happy, and energized!
  • Industry Qualifications paid by us (after a qualifying period)
  • Work from anywhere to facilitate your work-life balance
  • Apple laptop, large second monitor, and other quality-of-life equipment. Technology is something that should make your life easier, not harder!

Additionally, we will

  • Listen to your feedback to enhance and improve upon the long-standing challenges of an adjuster and the claims role
  • Work toward reducing and eliminating all the administrative work from an adjuster role
  • Foster a culture of empathy, transparency, and empowerment in a remote-first environment

At Reserv, we value diversity in backgrounds, perspectives, and life experiences and believe that diversity in viewpoints and critical thinking drives innovation, first-principles thinking, and success. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and encourage those from all walks of life to apply. If you believe you are a good fit for this role, we would love to hear from you!

Safe Remote Job Search Tips

Verify Employer Thoroughly

Research the company's identity thoroughly before applying. Check for a professional website with contacts, active social media, and LinkedIn profiles. Verify details across platforms and look for reviews on Glassdoor or Trustpilot to confirm legitimacy.

Never Pay to Get a Job

Legitimate employers never require payment for applications, training, background checks, or equipment. Always reject upfront payment requests or demands for bank details, even if they claim it's for purchasing necessary work gear on your behalf.

Safeguard Your Personal Information

Protect sensitive data like SSN, bank details, or ID copies. Share this only after accepting a formal, written job offer. Ensure it's submitted via a secure company system or portal, never through insecure channels like standard email attachments.

Scrutinize Communication & Interviews

Watch for communication red flags: poor grammar, generic emails (@gmail), vague details, or undue pressure. Be highly suspicious of interviews held only via text or chat apps; legitimate companies typically use video or phone calls.

Beware of Unrealistic Offers

If an offer's salary or benefits seem unrealistically high for the work involved, be cautious. Research standard pay for similar roles. Offers that appear 'too good to be true' are often scams designed to lure you into providing information or payment.

Insist on a Formal Contract

Always secure and review a formal, written job offer or employment contract before starting work or sharing final personal details. Ensure it clearly defines your role, compensation, key terms, and conditions to avoid misunderstandings or scams.
