Position Overview
We are currently seeking a Staff Accountant II to join our talented team! They will play a key role in supporting core accounting functions, preparing financial reports, and assisting with budget, forecasting, and compliance initiatives. We are looking for an energetic, high achieving and critical thinking individual who thrives on challenging assignments.
This is a remote position based in the United States. Residency in Los Angeles is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities:
- Support month-end close and other recurring accounting tasks.
- Contribute to compiling the annual budget, quarterly forecasts, and parent-subsidiary consolidations.
- Conduct research in areas including accounting principles, government incentive programs, and regulatory guidelines to develop proposals for the Controller and management.
- Respond to financial-related requests from the management team, government agencies, creditors, bankers, brokers, external accountants, and other third parties by generating accurate and comprehensive reports.
- Other ad-hoc projects as assigned from time to time by Zoic Studios.
- Review, evaluate and improve procedures for accounting tasks (A/P, A/R, multiple financial projections, month-end, payroll, etc.).
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- Three or more years of professional accounting experience.
- Proficiency in Office 365 (especially in Excel).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
- Solid problem solving, troubleshooting and critical thinking skills.
- High level of proactivity, integrity, dependability and ownership with tasks assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA license or currently pursuing CPA certification.
- Cost accounting experience – job order costing, overhead allocation, etc.
- Familiar with ASC606.
- Multi-state payroll experience a plus.
- Pay Range: $35 - $37 per hour (based on qualifications and experience).
- Benefits: We offer competitive compensation and benefits, such as medical, dental, vision, vacation, paid holiday and paid sick days following a 3-month probationary period.
- Requirements: Must have a reliable wired internet connection and be able to work on Pacific Standard Time.
