And as a mental health company, we take employee mental health just as seriously as we do our mission. At BetterHelp, you’ll carve your own path, make an immediate impact, and be challenged every day – with a supportive community behind you the whole way.
What are we looking for?
We are seeking a visionary and highly analytical Vice President of Performance Marketing to lead and scale our growth initiatives globally. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in data-driven marketing, exceptional leadership skills, and a strong understanding of the mental health landscape. This role requires a strategic thinker with a bias towards action who can balance short-term acquisition goals with long-term growth, all while navigating the unique regulatory and cultural nuances of global markets.
What will you do?
- Develop and execute a comprehensive global performance marketing strategy to drive customer acquisition and activation across multiple markets.
- Oversee all paid media efforts including search, social, tv, audio, programmatic, affiliate, influencer partnerships, and emerging channels.
- Optimize customer acquisition costs (CAC), lifetime value (LTV), and return on ad spend (ROAS) across geographies.
- Lead the development and execution of A/B testing frameworks, creative performance analysis, and funnel optimization strategies.
- Build and manage a high-performing, diverse team of growth marketers, media buyers, analysts, and external agencies.
- Partner cross-functionally with product, brand, data science, and engineering teams to ensure cohesive and efficient customer journeys.
- Develop robust attribution models and leverage advanced analytics to inform decision-making and budget allocation.
- Stay current on international regulations, privacy laws, and market-specific trends to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
- Provide regular reporting and insights to executive leadership on marketing performance, KPIs, and growth opportunities.
What will you NOT do?
- You will NOT worry about "runway", "cash left", or "how much time we have until the next round". We have the startup DNA but we're fully backed and funded, all the way to success.
- You will NOT be confined to your "job". You will get involved in product, marketing, business strategy, and almost everything we do.
- You will NOT be bogged down by office politics, ego, or bad attitude. Only positive, pleasure-to-work-with people are allowed here!
- You will NOT get yourself burned out. We work hard but we believe in maintaining a sustainable work/life balance. Really.
Can I work remotely?
Yes. We operate on PST and candidates in any time zone are welcome to apply. We ask employees to travel to our San Jose, CA office up to three times per year plus one company-wide offsite to collaborate in person and strengthen working relationships. Travel expenses are covered and reasonable accommodations are made for those under unique circumstances who cannot travel.

Verify Employer Thoroughly
Research the company's identity thoroughly before applying. Check for a professional website with contacts, active social media, and LinkedIn profiles. Verify details across platforms and look for reviews on Glassdoor or Trustpilot to confirm legitimacy.
Never Pay to Get a Job
Legitimate employers never require payment for applications, training, background checks, or equipment. Always reject upfront payment requests or demands for bank details, even if they claim it's for purchasing necessary work gear on your behalf.
Safeguard Your Personal Information
Protect sensitive data like SSN, bank details, or ID copies. Share this only after accepting a formal, written job offer. Ensure it's submitted via a secure company system or portal, never through insecure channels like standard email attachments.
Scrutinize Communication & Interviews
Watch for communication red flags: poor grammar, generic emails (@gmail), vague details, or undue pressure. Be highly suspicious of interviews held only via text or chat apps; legitimate companies typically use video or phone calls.
Beware of Unrealistic Offers
If an offer's salary or benefits seem unrealistically high for the work involved, be cautious. Research standard pay for similar roles. Offers that appear 'too good to be true' are often scams designed to lure you into providing information or payment.
Insist on a Formal Contract
Always secure and review a formal, written job offer or employment contract before starting work or sharing final personal details. Ensure it clearly defines your role, compensation, key terms, and conditions to avoid misunderstandings or scams.
