Job Description
Account Executive (Founding GTM Team Member)
About XBOW
At XBOW, we’re redefining the future of cybersecurity by building the world's first autonomous pentester, powered by AI. Today, the gold standard for securing software systems is human pentesters, but with the rise of artificial intelligence, we’re stepping up to scale offensive security to meet the ever-growing demand.
AI is transforming the landscape of both cybersecurity and cyberattacks. While millions of people without security expertise are creating software, bad actors are using AI to launch more effective attacks. XBOW fights back with AI-driven superpowers, enabling security teams to stay one step ahead.
Backed by Sequoia Capital and a team that includes the creators of GitHub Copilot and GitHub Advanced Security, XBOW is not just keeping up with the times—we’re shaping the future of cybersecurity. Our mission is simple: to defeat the bad actors before they strike, using AI to revolutionize how we approach offensive security.
We’re building something thatmust be built, and we’re the team to do it. Join us in shaping the next frontier of autonomous security.
Your Role: Account Executive
We’re looking for a tenacious Account Executive to join our founding GTM team here at XBOW. This is not a “plug-and-play” role. You’ll collaborate closely with XBOW's executive leadership to shape our sales strategy, refine our approach, and improve our internal tools to maximize your effectiveness. Your insights from customer interactions will directly drive the evolution of XBOW’s cutting-edge product and technology.
You’ll be joining early — with influence, upside, and access. We’re shipping fast, landing real customers, and solving a problem every modern software team feels. You’ll be helping define not just our sales motion, but how the company grows from here.
What You'll Do
Own the full sales cycle, from prospecting to close
Work closely with founders and product to refine positioning and surface customer insights
Help define and build repeatable outbound and inbound motion
Engage technical stakeholders (engineering, platform, security, compliance) with empathy and credibility
Manage pipeline with a focus on velocity, value, and clarity — no bloated forecasting
Partner cross-functionally to shape pricing, GTM strategy, and the future of our customer experience
Who You Are
You have demonstrable and proven commercial SaaS sales experience, ideally in developer tools, security, or infrastructure
Thrive in early-stage environments where ambiguity is the norm and you like building the playbook, not just running it
Know how to communicate clearly with technical buyers — not afraid to ask questions, dig deep, and listen more than you talk
Can create demand, not just manage it — comfortable prospecting and storytelling in new markets
Are coachable, curious, and motivated by solving real problems for real users
Have an ownership mindset and bias for action
Bonus if you have:
Sold into engineering, DevOps, or security teams
Experience with compliance or risk-adjacent workflows (SOC 2, ISO 27001, etc.)
Been a founding or early sales hire before
What We Offer
Compensation & Equity: Competitive salary, commission structure and equity package, making you a true owner of the company and compensated for your ouput
Career Growth: Shape your role and grow with the company as we redefine cybersecurity.
Meaningful Work: You will tackle complex challenges and play a pivotal role in shaping XBOW’s growth into a global player.
What Else You Should Know
Location: Remote / New York / San Francisco
Contract: Full-time
Hiring Process:
30-min introductory chat
45-min product demo
45-min simulated sales pitch
Offer
We use AI every day — it’s baked into how we build and sell. But when it comes to this job, we’re looking for someone who leads with curiosity, empathy, and real perspective. If that’s you, we’d love to talk.
Safe Remote Job Search Tips
Verify Employer Thoroughly
Research the company's identity thoroughly before applying. Check for a professional website with contacts, active social media, and LinkedIn profiles. Verify details across platforms and look for reviews on Glassdoor or Trustpilot to confirm legitimacy.
Never Pay to Get a Job
Legitimate employers never require payment for applications, training, background checks, or equipment. Always reject upfront payment requests or demands for bank details, even if they claim it's for purchasing necessary work gear on your behalf.
Safeguard Your Personal Information
Protect sensitive data like SSN, bank details, or ID copies. Share this only after accepting a formal, written job offer. Ensure it's submitted via a secure company system or portal, never through insecure channels like standard email attachments.
Scrutinize Communication & Interviews
Watch for communication red flags: poor grammar, generic emails (@gmail), vague details, or undue pressure. Be highly suspicious of interviews held only via text or chat apps; legitimate companies typically use video or phone calls.
Beware of Unrealistic Offers
If an offer's salary or benefits seem unrealistically high for the work involved, be cautious. Research standard pay for similar roles. Offers that appear 'too good to be true' are often scams designed to lure you into providing information or payment.
Insist on a Formal Contract
Always secure and review a formal, written job offer or employment contract before starting work or sharing final personal details. Ensure it clearly defines your role, compensation, key terms, and conditions to avoid misunderstandings or scams.
