About the Role:
You will be part of our centralized Risk, Analytics and Data Science team, and play an essential role in the premium pricing and risk monitoring functionalities at Extend. You will have the opportunity to bring sophistication and efficiency in risk mitigation and profitability improvement for the organization. You can bring in innovation and creativity, have the freedom to develop new tools, and help guide the direction of the analytics team. You will be at the forefront of sales pitch, business negotiation, strategic review, etc., with a lot of cross-functional collaboration and leadership interactions. What You Will Be Doing:
- Own premium pricing, frequency estimates, and loss ratio forecasts for our innovative product protection and shipping protection offerings
- Drive analysis, modeling, and monitoring to estimate and recommend actions aimed at enhancing underwriting results for merchants and programs, alongside experienced actuaries internally and externally
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to establish the highest business priorities and opportunities by measuring expected reach and impact for operations focused teams
- Define and execute on analytics-driven enhancements to current and future products
- Streamline reporting and visualization tools to facilitate the management of our risk portfolio
What We’re Looking For:
- Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS) or equivalent exam experience, working towards FCAS preferred
- Solid analytical skills including but not limited to Structural Query language (SQL), Programming language (Python or R), and a BI tool like Tableau or Looker
- 8+ years of actuarial pricing or related experience - warranty, large account pricing, or predictive modeling is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field
- Experience with warranty (service contracts) preferred but not required
- Ability to dive deep into data and communicate insights to audiences of all backgrounds, especially to teams with less data & analytics experience
- Ability and interest in thinking beyond the insurance organization, considering the challenges of other teams, and prioritizing what is best for the business holistically, is essential
- Empathy, humility, and curiosity
Expected Pay Range: $125,000 - $161,000 per year salaried*
* The target base salary range for this position is listed above. Individual salaries are determined based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
