Job Description
About Atticus
At any given time, 16 million Americans are experiencing a crisis that requires urgent help from our legal system or government. The right assistance could transform their lives. But today, most never get it.
Atticus makes it easy for any sick or injured person in crisis to get the life-changing aid they deserve. In the last 6 years we’ve become the leading platform connecting people with disabilities to government benefits. We also help victims of accidents, misconduct, and violence get compensation from insurance. So far, we’ve gotten thousands of people access to over $4B in life-changing aid, and we’re just getting started.
We've helped more than 110,000 people in need (see our 13,000+ five-star reviews) and raised more than $100 million from top VC firms like Fika, Forerunner, GV (Google Ventures), and True Ventures. (We closed our Series C round in April 2025, so we're well-funded for the foreseeable future.) We're small but moving fast — our team grew from 89 to over 151 last year, and we expect to grow again in 2025.
The Job
Identifying the people who need Atticus, educating them on our services, and getting them the help they need is one of the hardest and most rewarding things we do. Because the legal marketing space is highly competitive and heavily regulated, we aim to find innovative ways to reach our clients during the biggest crises of their lives while building trust with our clients. As part of Atticus’ creative marketing team, you’ll be responsible for helping our clients understand who we are, what we do and how we can help them through best-in-class video content.
As the Art Director editor, you’ll work with theHead of Creative to execute high-performing ads to help scale our creative output. In time, you will help bring to life your own creative vision and help establish a category-defining brand. You will be responsible for:
Transforming briefs into storyboards and static graphics for organic and paid videos
Concepting and creating original content for both on site and in ads
Partnering with Product and Growth Marketing to create videos and ads we are both proud of and that also improve our ultimate accountability metric, CAC, and allow us to scale our content-led acquisition channels
Qualifications
Required:
You have 4+ years of experience working full-time as an Art Director/ Senior Graphic designer with Motion and video experience at a startup
You have a strong portfolio full of both video and static work
You’re an expert at creating storyboards and understand how to effectively communicate your ideas to video editors and animators
You know how to take a brief or complex messaging and translate that into videos to help tell an easy-to-understand story
You have excellent taste, and are excited to collaborate with our growing (and incredibly talented) marketing team
Bonus / Nice-to-Have:
Experience with long form video editing and animation
Experience producing shoots and working on set
We are strongly committed to building a diverse team. If you’re from a background that’s underrepresented in tech, we’d love to meet you.
Salary and Benefits
This is a rare opportunity to join a startup that has strong traction (substantial funding, well-respected backers, tremendous growth, and many happy customers) but is still small enough that you can have a huge impact and play a role in shaping our culture.
We’re a certified B Corporation tackling a critical social problem. Our mission to help people in need drives everything we do, and your work here will touch many lives.
We offer competitive pay — including equity — and generous benefits:
Medical and dental insurance with 100% of employee premiums covered
15 vacation days & ~19 paid holidays each year (including two weeks at end-of-year)
Free membership to OneMedical
$600/year reimbursable stipend for internet service
$1,000 reimbursable stipend for education and training outside of work
Up to $1,200/year student loan repayment assistance
401(k) and optional HSA/FSA
Humble, thoughtful, smart, fun colleagues
We anticipate the base salary band for this role will be between $120,000 to $140,000 in addition to equity and benefits. The salary at offer will be determined by a number of factors such as candidate’s experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity among our team.
Location
This job is fully remote and we’re committed to empowering everyone with flexibility. Live wherever, work remotely, and travel to LA (on the company dime) as needed to be with your colleagues —somewhere between quarterly and yearly. We care a lot about building a great culture and we think some interactions need to happen in person, so we put a lot of thought into retreats, offsites, and other ways to gather.

Verify Employer Thoroughly
Research the company's identity thoroughly before applying. Check for a professional website with contacts, active social media, and LinkedIn profiles. Verify details across platforms and look for reviews on Glassdoor or Trustpilot to confirm legitimacy.
Never Pay to Get a Job
Legitimate employers never require payment for applications, training, background checks, or equipment. Always reject upfront payment requests or demands for bank details, even if they claim it's for purchasing necessary work gear on your behalf.
Safeguard Your Personal Information
Protect sensitive data like SSN, bank details, or ID copies. Share this only after accepting a formal, written job offer. Ensure it's submitted via a secure company system or portal, never through insecure channels like standard email attachments.
Scrutinize Communication & Interviews
Watch for communication red flags: poor grammar, generic emails (@gmail), vague details, or undue pressure. Be highly suspicious of interviews held only via text or chat apps; legitimate companies typically use video or phone calls.
Beware of Unrealistic Offers
If an offer's salary or benefits seem unrealistically high for the work involved, be cautious. Research standard pay for similar roles. Offers that appear 'too good to be true' are often scams designed to lure you into providing information or payment.
Insist on a Formal Contract
Always secure and review a formal, written job offer or employment contract before starting work or sharing final personal details. Ensure it clearly defines your role, compensation, key terms, and conditions to avoid misunderstandings or scams.
