The Opportunity:
Found is seeking a detail-oriented, driven, and hands-on Assistant Controller to help scale and strengthen our finance and accounting operations. This is a unique opportunity to join a mission-driven startup in a high-growth phase, where your contributions will directly impact our ability to deliver personalized weight care to hundreds of thousands more people.
Reporting to the Head of Finance, this role will oversee all aspects of the accounting function, including financial close, reporting, audit preparation, and the implementation of controls and processes that support a fast-growing organization. You’ll collaborate cross-functionally with operations, product, people, and compliance teams to ensure accurate financial information, scalable systems, and a strong foundation for strategic decision-making.
What You’ll Do:
- Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
- Own key accounting functions including GL, accruals, revenue recognition, payroll, and accounts payable/receivable
- Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Support audits (financial and regulatory), working closely with external auditors and internal teams
- Assist with tax compliance, including sales/use tax and federal/state filings
- Help implement and optimize financial systems and tools as the company scales
- Analyze financial data to identify trends and support business decisions
What You Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA strongly preferred
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally a mix of public accounting and in-house startup or growth-stage company experience
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, revenue recognition (ASC 606), and financial reporting
- Experience with accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks) and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, Looker)
- Familiarity with healthcare, digital health, or subscription-based business models a plus
Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management skills - Proven ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, remote-first environment
