Position Overview
We are currently seeking a talented and driven Business Development Representative (BDR) to support our nonprofit software vertical, SylogistMission.
Reporting directly to the Director of Business Development & Communications, the primary responsibility of the BDR is to establish and cultivate relationships with individuals and organizations in our target markets. Your efforts at the outset of these relationships are instrumental in identifying and attracting new customers to our business.
This role is a great fit for an ambitious, early-career individual eager to gain experience in software sales and marketing. As a key member of our team, you’ll build valuable skills in outreach, CRM management, and lead generation, while working alongside motivated professionals. Responsibilities Include:
- Understanding our buyer personas and the needs of our target market
- Researching, generating, and qualifying leads
- Cold calling and cold emailing qualified prospects
- Writing and adapting outreach scripts and email sequences
- Using social-selling techniques to attract and source leads
- Updating and maintaining accurate notes in our CRM
- Ensuring lead data accuracy and upkeep in the CRM system
- Brainstorming and executing new strategies to engage prospects
- Collaborating with the team to share and refine prospecting techniques
- Staying informed on trends across the nonprofit sector, our competitors, and industry news
- Attending industry events and networking to generate and qualify leads
- Participating in face-to-face meetings and other relationship-building activities
- Helping to create updates and reports for presentation to management
- Other duties as assigned
What We Look for in You:
Must-haves:
- Completed post-secondary education in Marketing, Business, or a related field
- At least six months of experience in a sales or customer service role
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Comfortable with selling via email and phone
- Strong written communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to travel throughout Canada and the US
Nice-to-haves:
- Internship or co-op experience at a SaaS company
- Experience with non-profit is a plus
