Role Overview
You’ll be the quantitative storyteller who connects Stack Overflow to C-suite outcomes. You will build ROI models in presales, validating impact post-sale, and advising customers on the strategies that unlock full platform value. Partnering closely with Sales, Customer Success, and our Professional & Managed Services team, you’ll turn data into board-ready narratives that accelerate deals, protect renewals, and surface expansion opportunities.
What you’ll do
- Pre-sale value engineering – Lead discovery with economic buyers, quantify pain points, and present compelling business cases that shorten sales cycles and lift deal size.
- Post-sale impact validation – Benchmark adoption KPIs, run value-realization workshops, and deliver executive read-outs that tie community health to productivity, time-to-market, and AI-readiness gains.
- Model & method development – Enhance our ROI calculators, TCO frameworks, and industry benchmarks; collaborate with RevOps to keep data inputs current and auditable.
- Strategic advisory – Recommend engagement roadmaps and PS/MS attach motions that drive license utilization and expansion ARR.
- Thought leadership – Produce whitepapers, webinar content, and conference sessions that position Stack Overflow as the authority on developer productivity economics.
What you’ll bring
- 4–6 years in value consulting, solutions engineering, or strategic finance within B2B SaaS (developer tooling or knowledge-management a plus).
- Advanced Excel / financial-modeling skills; comfortable turning raw usage data into board-level ROI stories.
- Proficiency generating executive-facing assets, you are able to simplify complex analytics for non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven track record influencing six-and seven-figure software deals and renewals through economic justification.
- Familiarity with developer productivity metrics (cycle time, MTTR, NPS) and community health analytics (MAU, QAU, median TTA).
- Bonus: experience administering or analyzing Stack Overflow for Teams data exports or similar community platforms.
Compensation (OTE)
$154K - $185k OTE (80% base / 20% variable)
– Base: $123K – $148K
– Variable at target: $31k – $37k

Verify Employer Thoroughly
Research the company's identity thoroughly before applying. Check for a professional website with contacts, active social media, and LinkedIn profiles. Verify details across platforms and look for reviews on Glassdoor or Trustpilot to confirm legitimacy.
Never Pay to Get a Job
Legitimate employers never require payment for applications, training, background checks, or equipment. Always reject upfront payment requests or demands for bank details, even if they claim it's for purchasing necessary work gear on your behalf.
Safeguard Your Personal Information
Protect sensitive data like SSN, bank details, or ID copies. Share this only after accepting a formal, written job offer. Ensure it's submitted via a secure company system or portal, never through insecure channels like standard email attachments.
Scrutinize Communication & Interviews
Watch for communication red flags: poor grammar, generic emails (@gmail), vague details, or undue pressure. Be highly suspicious of interviews held only via text or chat apps; legitimate companies typically use video or phone calls.
Beware of Unrealistic Offers
If an offer's salary or benefits seem unrealistically high for the work involved, be cautious. Research standard pay for similar roles. Offers that appear 'too good to be true' are often scams designed to lure you into providing information or payment.
Insist on a Formal Contract
Always secure and review a formal, written job offer or employment contract before starting work or sharing final personal details. Ensure it clearly defines your role, compensation, key terms, and conditions to avoid misunderstandings or scams.
