As the Influencer Marketing Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting the Influencer Marketing Manager and collaborating closely with the social media and other cross-functional marketing teams to execute our influencer marketing program. Your primary focus will be on the day-to-day implementation of influencer campaigns designed to drive brand awareness, consideration, and conversion. You will contribute to building and executing influencer activations that support and amplify integrated marketing, paid acquisition, and social-first campaigns.

In this role, you will work 40 hours per week.

Work/Project Scope:

- Support the Influencer Marketing Manager in the execution of Upwork’s influencer marketing strategy, focusing on the day-to-day management of influencer campaigns that drive brand awareness, consideration, increase engagement, and conversion.
- Lead the tactical execution of influencer marketing campaigns, working closely with cross-functional partners to ensure talent selection, messaging, deliverables and briefs align with marketing goals.
- Collaborate with the Influencer Marketing Manager and project marketing managers to identify relevant influencer verticals, key product messages that support business objectives, and discover and vet prospective influencers based on campaign-specific criteria.
- Assist in communicating influencer marketing plans and updates to various cross-functional (XFN) partners to ensure alignment with Integrated Marketing plans.
- Support the day-to-day management of influencer campaigns, including tracking timelines and deliverables, communicating with influencer partners directly, reviewing content, and facilitating the content approval process with cross-functional teams.
- Assist in managing content creators; this includes a dedicated group of creators who specifically produce content for Upwork's social media channels, for both paid and organic placements.
- Partner closely with the social media teams to align on their social calendar and identify optimal opportunities for influencer content integration.
- Assist in compiling monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc campaign performance reports to measure effectiveness and overall impact on marketing goals.
- Support internal communication to cross-functional partners and departments on active campaigns, providing performance updates and key learnings.
- Provide support for cultural and entertainment marketing initiatives, which may include integrations, brand and celebrity partnerships, activations, and brand campaigns, in alignment with marketing plans.

Must-Have Requirements:

- Proven experience 2-3 years in influencer marketing with an agency or brand, plus experience in contributing to campaign execution and translating strategic direction into actionable marketing tactics.
- Demonstrated ability in project management, including managing timelines, details, and budgets effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills, coupled with excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative and fast-paced environment, supporting relationships with multiple stakeholders and cross-functional business partners.
- Proactive in bringing fresh ideas to the team regarding market and cultural trends, growth opportunities, and emerging insights to enhance campaigns.
- Hands-on and ready to contribute directly to campaign execution, with the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
- Understanding of social media platforms and their relevance to creators, influencers, and trends within B2B and/or B2C marketing.

Safe Remote Job Search Tips

Verify Employer Thoroughly

Research the company's identity thoroughly before applying. Check for a professional website with contacts, active social media, and LinkedIn profiles. Verify details across platforms and look for reviews on Glassdoor or Trustpilot to confirm legitimacy.

Never Pay to Get a Job

Legitimate employers never require payment for applications, training, background checks, or equipment. Always reject upfront payment requests or demands for bank details, even if they claim it's for purchasing necessary work gear on your behalf.

Safeguard Your Personal Information

Protect sensitive data like SSN, bank details, or ID copies. Share this only after accepting a formal, written job offer. Ensure it's submitted via a secure company system or portal, never through insecure channels like standard email attachments.

Scrutinize Communication & Interviews

Watch for communication red flags: poor grammar, generic emails (@gmail), vague details, or undue pressure. Be highly suspicious of interviews held only via text or chat apps; legitimate companies typically use video or phone calls.

Beware of Unrealistic Offers

If an offer's salary or benefits seem unrealistically high for the work involved, be cautious. Research standard pay for similar roles. Offers that appear 'too good to be true' are often scams designed to lure you into providing information or payment.

Insist on a Formal Contract

Always secure and review a formal, written job offer or employment contract before starting work or sharing final personal details. Ensure it clearly defines your role, compensation, key terms, and conditions to avoid misunderstandings or scams.
